Most of the tanks I've partied with are still stuck in the pull everything mentality of HW that I'm spamming Cure 2's like no tomorrow with no time to DPS. Granted we cleared but geezus, we're all new and not overgeared anymore so slow down please. Not good for my little heart.

Well, that's what happens when tanks in DF get shit on all the time for not clearing dungeons fast enough.

Tanks get the short end of the stick when it comes to this. If I queue and you are my healer, you might think I am running too fast. If I slow down to the pace you like and get someone else, they might think I'm running too slow.

So many back seat drivers, few actually want to queue as tank and drive.

I'm super glad that only one person needs to know the mechanics of the 2nd boss in the level 65 dungeon, it saves me so much time explaining.

I've had this too, but as AST :| so it's terrifying lol, don't have the big heals like I used to with WHM and definitely finding Mp management on AST more difficult since 4.0.
How is WHM otherwise though? I levelled AST to 60 ready for Stormblood in case I needed to switch mains and kind of enjoyed it too much so stuck with it :P but I also co-heal with my bf in raids and he is AST in Nocturnal Sect so me as WHM with regens worked nicely, so I was thinking of levelling WHM up next for those situations. (and then DRK for queues lol, BRD cause it was my original main, then probably SMN... it's gonna take me a whiiiile lol)

Funny enough, I've always been able to keep up with these kinds multi-pull tanks. However you have to consider how long the recast time is for the big heals like Tetra and Benediction, a WHM can only use one of those if you're doing big pulls, and if both get used on the same pull, well RIP if you over do it.

On the other side of the coin, it's so much easier for the healer to DPS now that you're more likely to wipe from the healer trying to help, something to keep in mind for synced content.

I'm pretty indifferent to WHM. They didn't really lose much but didn't gain much either. Their lily mechanic can be easily ignored. Thin Air is easily their best new tool (pair with PoM and Holy spam all day). So far I've pretty much had infinite MP throughout all my runs.

Their lack of utility still might make them unwanted in a raid environment though. Then again I'm not a huge raider and we know nothing about Omega yet so, who knows.

I enjoy reading this thread from time to time, but this is my first post on the thread!

I just completed a dungeon with a DRG and healer duo. Everyone was very kind, and the tank was extremely helpful and pretty much explained the dungeon mechanics to everyone. I was super grateful for this; I never expect this of anyone, but I appreciate it, nonetheless.

However, the other DPS, a DRG was doing very little damage throughout the dungeon. I don't think they went once above me aggro-wise, or my pet (I was playing SMN). They went AFK randomly once without saying anything, which is okay, but I think it's nice to throw in a "brb" if you're able to.

At one boss, the tank said to use Limit Break. I could be wrong, but I always figured melee were generally the ones who should use LB, if they're in the party? Please do correct me if I am incorrect, or my information is outdated. I asked if the DRG should LB, but the DRG just kept attacking; they might have been using auto-attack for all the damage they were doing, honestly. I ended up using LB a few minutes later since the DRG wouldn't -- I'm not sure if this is acceptable, but I figured I'd use it since the DRG wouldn't.

The rest of the dungeon went pretty well until we got to the final boss. The DRG continuously dragged the AoE markers from the boss onto me, until the DRG finally died. I raised them, but they kept dragging the AoEs onto me, and I died. The boss was at about 40% health at that point, and the healer didn't raise me for the rest of the fight. The fight took ages because the DRG was doing so little DPS and the healer would not raise me.

I kind of feel bad complaining, because everyone was so kind, but the run could have gone much smoother if the DRG had communicated better, DPS'd properly, and if the healer had raised me. We were extremely fortunate to have such a kind, understanding tank; I know many, many others would not have tolerated such behavior (I had a similar experience a few weeks ago, and the tank left within minutes). I gave the tank my com -- I so, so appreciate their patience!

But Tried to tell them you can eat the back to orbs and not eat the front if DPS is fast enough.

Wouldn't believe me, and kept doing all 4.

It came to a stand still until finally they were like "i'll trust you." LOL

and sure enough it worked.

I just completed a dungeon with a DRG!

It sounded like the Dragoon had no idea what his rotation should be if you were accurately describing his fighting playstyle (My main use to be a dragoon and with the right rotation, we are pretty tough)

And you are right about the LB. Melee LBs are the best in the party. With my red mage I do not touch it unless I KNOW the melee folks had completely forgot about it.

usually our LBS are full massive AOE or if the boss summons multiple adds as part of their phase. But you are right...the Dragoon should have popped the LB.
