    Wouldn't call it boring, maybe a little too easy. I think having some kind of buff or something related to controlling which mana is higher would be interesting. I mentioned in another thread the idea of having maybe a regen or mp refresh effect on verholy and maybe a damage buff or magic debuff on verflare. This would then force you to make sure black is lower than white to use the flare to get the (insert effect). Also make the dam flare and holy aoe.

    I can agree with this statement. Whether or not something can be considered boring is highly subjective, but for what it's worth, I'm with the crowd that thinks Red Mage is a lot of fun to play. However, my biggest criticism is that Red Mage feels too simple. If I were to use Samurai as a point of comparison, Red Mage feels like Samurai without the Kenki gauge. For Samurai, it's the management of Kenki that gives the job a whole new layer of depth. That's something Red Mage lacks. Another way to look at it would be to say Red Mage has a low skill floor, but also a low skill ceiling. SE has stated their intent to shorten the gap between those two extremes, but I still find myself wishing Red Mage could be pushed further.

    No, because you know what happens to AoE spells in FFXIV.

    I wouldn't mind VerHoly being AoE (it looks more AoE than VerFlare) even if they did do the AoE Effect, but I like how the class is where it stands.

    Seems to me you just wanted the class to be something its not. If you had any real experience with Red Mage in past final fantasies you'd know its mostly a caster class with melee as a type of little bonus (as it is in FFXIV). Hell, in some final fantasies they primarily used staffs rather than traditional melee weapons.

    As far as the rotation being boring is concerned, I actually find it more fun than than my other DPS: Monk. As well as the other DPS I've tried here and there in PotD. Other DPS tend to be about buff management and/or positionals, which I simply dont find fun, I find it tedious. Not saying RDM isn't simple, it is. But its, imo, a fun thing to play.

    I mained tank since ARR, now I'm maining RDM, and I can definitely, without a doubt, say that RDM is more complicated than playing any of the tanks.

    I don't think the class is boring or easy. The rotation might be simple in theory, but it's not as easy in practice, especially in high stress situations.
    A lot of people have been talking about lack of AoE options and complaining about having to spam Scatter. I think spamming scatter is a mistake. As a lot of people have said, the main goal of a Red Mage is building your Mana meters, so in situations where there are two or more enemies, I just hard cast Scatter and use Verthunder or Veraero to build meter as fast as possible, to build up for Enmoulinet. Get the right angle and firing off three Enmoulinets in rapid succession is pretty satisfying.
    With that said, I'm not exactly a fan of the Manafication and Acceleration skills because they feel like filler skills, enhancing something you already do, and since you should be using them on cool down, it feels a little nagging.
