so, I was finding it pretty difficult to time Wildfire with Overheat, but then again I don't have all the big heat-raising skills so I kinda can't overheat at will yet.

overall are we basically using Wildfire on Cooldown now, without worrying about Overheat?

Flamethrower is the fastest way to overheat, but again, I dunno if worth it to wildfire for it. The downtime is a pretty rough punishment.

We're spamming WF now. Even on trash. There's a lot of 2 mob fights where it's better to single target. You'll need to run a few time to learn where you can WF / Overheat without compromising our boss DPS.

Another note: Stack ON Drgs. Live on them. They have an annoying skill that gives you +5% DPS and them +10% DPS.

Seems to be that we are sacrificing a bit of that bit frantic 15-second burst spam, for a bit of more controllable, sustained dps.

takes some adjusting, but overall I think I can dig it.

Sometimes you will overheat, sometimes turret sac, sometimes sit on it.

For example: One of the new extreme dungeons bosses has a 35 second transition phase. So you can both turret sac and overheat with no problem as they will both be back up before he's down, where as another fight does not.
Interesting, thanks for your input. So used to "do the thing when the thing is up and lined up with other things" that it seems counter intuitive to not try and use overheating and turret sac as much as possible.

Im too lazy to do the math but my wildfire isnt getting too much benefit from overheating at all, maybe as our gear scales into higher numbers it will be worth it. We have to get the maths on the entire rotation and see the difference to really know. For right now I dont even bother overheating unless its an AOE pull. Then you have that nasty 10+ second old MCH shot combo (ew) before you can put it back on with stab or flamethrower.

    That's my openner.

Still don't have a way to wildfire with overheat (on purpose) in my openner.
Thats a 3 ammo openener with reload off Cooldown. What do you use for regular dungeon bosses where you only have one reload? Im assuming the old one is still the best? hotshot(quick reload/hyperdrive)splitshot(wildfire/reload)slugshot(gauss round/reassemble)cleanshot(rapid fire/ricochet)splitshot(rookoverdrive)?

You should always have 3 ammo for WF as it's on a 30 second cooldown now, with WF being 60 seconds.

He said with 3 ammo, and then he put reload into the rotation. His rotation uses the 3 ammo to proc the first rotation of the chain, so its a 3 ammo opener WITH reload off cooldown because reload is used in the rotation.

The extra 3 doesn't change anything. It's still Split > Slug > Split > Clean. Adding the extra 3 only reverses the order and isn't necessary.
