Cool, so am I. Or, at least I try to be, lol.
Agreed. Leveling Disciples of Magic for Cure spells, I can understand, but there are a lot of moves that some jobs learn that make me wonder why they aren't on Gladiator instead. Why does Marauder need Defender and enmity-generating moves when it's not the primary tanking class? Why do Pugilist and Lancer both get healing moves like Second Wind and Speed/Life Surge? Why does Archer get Decoy? Why does Pugilist get Accomplice? All of these seem like tanking moves to me, yet they're learned by jobs that aren't really designed for tanking in the first place...
I agree that lag can be a big problem in that fight, seeing how it's very action-based.
I thought the Ifrit fight was fun and different due to its action-based elements (having to actually move around and dodge things rather than stand in one spot and let your stats determine everything), but I do see it being a problem when the game as a whole isn't really designed around action-based combat.
Not being able to parry AND block as a GLA is stupid, definitely agree there.
Also agreed. I'm glad they at least adjusted the required party sizes for the raids, but I guess they thought that Ifrit would be too difficult with less than 8 people. At least there's no restrictions on the Beastmen camps though - my LS and another LS teamed up one day just so we could get to the NM's at the end. We must've had at least 50 people, lol.
A million times, this. If SE plans on implementing more action-based fights, then our characters can't be forced to stand still while performing moves. They'll have to do something similar to what they did with bringing out/putting away our weapons.
Maybe Fire Resistance would help? I can't really help you on that because SE has still kinda left us in the dark on the specifics of what each stat does exactly...
I don't see why SE made it to where certain unique/untradable drops don't go to your loot list now, it's retarded.
My LS hasn't even beat Ifrit yet. One reason is because we simply don't have any Lv50 Lancers, which is sad because fights shouldn't have to rely on certain specific job setups in order to be completed effectively. That, and the other stuff you mentioned doesn't help either.
I just want to say that I know how you feel, as it's frustrating for me as well, especially having not even gotten all the way through the fight. Even more so as a Gladiator due to all the messed up stats like enmity, blocking, and parrying...
