New expansion, new rules for newbie status. Unless you have finished the 3.x MSQ (used to be 2.x MSQ) you can have the New Adventurer status.Me and my friends were short one person for MSQ roulette, but since it was only a DPS we figured we'd go.
Cue 10 seconds of confusion during the first mob pull you actually have to defeat - the random DPS we picked up was a newbie sproutling, so we didn't look closer. Then one of us did.
She said 'he's level 61 and in shire gear??', and for 10 seconds all 7 of us stopped. We're all super overtired and barely comprehensible and all; then one realised: "Jump potion". Several 'oh's and 'ah's, and we continue on.
I guess jump potion is also a possibility
So far, I am loving RDM, got to 65 and went into the new dungeon for my level. First pull the DRK can't seem to hold hate and loses it to me and the Bard, we end up wiping on the first pull (which he grabbed both sets), says he will do smaller, kill next set no problem. Use diversion, perform my enchanted combo, pull hate, we clear that bit and then I see "You have been kicked" =/
I wouldn't mind if I did something wrong but the fact the wait times are damn nuts right now. >.>

A new expansion, and a new wave of tanks not using cooldowns, but still doing the largest possible pulls in SB leveling dungeons. o7
I'm all for large pulls, but please use a cooldown. Fight or Flight doesn't count.
Also, anyone else noticed getting random drops at the end of duties that aren't for the job you're currently on? In the level 61 dungeon just leveling up AST since I promised a friend I'd wait and do Susano with him (mildly regretting that now because I really want to progress, but a promise is a promise, and he couldn't help being stuck behind wonky instances AND Raubahn Savage), and twice I've gotten the Scouting headpiece while on AST. ._. It's definitely not because I have all the healing pieces, since I make a habit of doing my seals turn-ins frequently.
EDIT: Ah, I see now: it's mislabeled. It's labeled as a Scouting piece, but the stats and applicable jobs are CNJ WHM SCH AST. Haha. Saw this while doing my GC turn ins.

Just ran one of the new dungeons for exp and my DPS partner, a SMN stood close and adjusted the whole time for Dragon Sight, I've been running with a friend till now, so I am use to someone knowing it, but I didn't expect it with a random. Thank you Goo! You were great, its nice to work together with people we're all still learning!
I've had mostly really good groups running the new dungeons and though Raubahn and Pipin reeeeeeeally made things frustrating, I am having a great time.
HW launch was smoother, but I really appreciate everything in this expansion so far.

I don't even have it equipped as a role ability. Not worth the slot. Protect, Esuna, Swiftcast, Lucid Dreaming and Largesse are what I'm using right now. Some of those are situational. If I know I'm going into a raid and who the other healer will be, one of us can equip Protect and the other bring something else, but the other 4 pretty much aren't going anywhere.
You can turn new adventurer status back on, if you just want to mess with people. I believe it's /nastatuson.

I ran a roulette yesterday on my AST and the tank was taking massive damage from the start. He didn't have the best gear. So I asked him to pull smaller groups. He got mad at me for not putting Stoneskin on him before pulls.
Me: "I'm guessing you didn't read the patch notes on healers."

Had a similar encounter a while back as a bard in sohm al I believe...So far, I am loving RDM, got to 65 and went into the new dungeon for my level. A few pulls, things going not quite smoothly...
Tank pulled a group, I buffed up, and pulled hate from him using aoe skills...
And when that group was down I was kicked from the duty.
Not a word was said apart from some greetings at the start, and a cover macro from the paladin.
I reported the group for vote kick abuse, and I hope you did the same.

Oh no, we all knew about the Sprout thing, but that sprout was wearing full hellfire or shire gear (I don't remember which). New in Praetorium. It just didn't add up for all our befuddled brains until we remembered jump potions were a thing.
Nothing to report here otherwise, every tank we've had thus far in the new dungeons (I'm part of a trio for MSQ right now, basically) was new as well and we worked our way through everything nicely and adequately placed. Though the second boss in the 65 one caught us... off-guard, slightly.

Leveling SCH because DPS queues are crazy. Went to 50/60 roulette and got Wanderers Palace HM. At the second boss I went ahead and put Eos beside the boss completely forgetting she gets aggro. At the last boss I didn't heal the poison because I couldn't find leeches.
Went to low level and since I was healing, I got The Vault. It was one of the smoothest runs there I've had.
During PvP, I was the only healer in the entire alliance three matches in a row. It's funny when they realize that and every time I popped my head out it turns into a 48v1. There was a match where I just ran around hacking people. I somehow got three comms for it.
As it turns out, if everyone knows what they're doing, 4 DPS can clear Hullbreaker Isle. Yay for FC runs!
Anyway, BLM has been an interesting journey so far. Sleep works again, finally! On the other hand, we've lost Raging Strikes and half our spells have been nerfed for reasons I still don't get.
But, given the wait times now, I suppose I'll just have to suck it up and level a healer or tank, if I want to get Shisui done.

So yeah, got a quick one. Ran Sirensong for the first time last night, myself and the healer were new and it was only the second time for the other DPS, our tank was already synced down, mentor crown and quiet as the grave. (Least until a wipe happened.) Healer and I introduced that we were new to the dungeon and wanted to go slow. Other DPS said they would like that too, crickets from the tank. Mentor tank then proceeds to pull all mobs to the wall, not explain a thing about the bosses and pitch a huge fit when a wipe finally happened. We eventually got through but it was like pulling teeth with the tank. =3=
Normally I would have executed Vote kick but with how unstable the servers were that night, I didn't wanna risk the vote kick causing a full party crash...
