Think the game moves files to a temporary folder that gets deleted after download, or when the download is canceled. So you just have to redownload it all agin.

from what i can tell, FFXIV doesn't need a reserved amount of space to download the updates. in other words, the update would be downloaded directly to the games installation. and not copied over from a temp location.

it should behave this way, because of the internal updater. i have noticed that when games update from the dashboard of the PS4 that they need a minimal amount of space reserved. this is true regardless of download size. it could just be a 200MB update, but will still reserve 36GB for the download. FFXIV uses an internal updater, so 200MB only requires 200MB.

and because of that, canceling the download/update shouldn't cause you to lose any kind of progress. you should be able to pick up right where you left off at.

at any rate, sounds like people are having an issue with the download. what they are experiencing certainly isn't normal, i know that.
