

The good:
SAM, full aoe rotation, can mix aoe and single target, well done. RDM is interesting too..
The bad:
everything else, uninteresting story, bad class changes esp with whm and SCH. healer damage too low for solo content/ 60 dungeons. PvP is bad and confusing, I do not get a fairy no more? Need to select sprint as an ability where you can only have TWO!?!?!? the hell? then when I do hit the summon I get an invisible one? is the PvP changes bugged in general? nerfing overall DPS (from tanks dps and healers) at 60 because they are afraid of damage inflation for 70? how do we do 60 cap stuff then? Then the biggest blunder of the job changes is removing sustain, WHY!?!?!!?!?!?

I play only healers and tanks. I am actually very glad healer damage is "too low".
It is not too low to solo. I am managing that just fine. But I am glad it is too low to be considered useful in group content - so I can finally have people stop telling me to waste my GCDs making up for their shoddy DPS.
I just wish tank DPS was so low I could barely solo... so I'd be able to focus on tanking and not be asked to make up for the shoddy skills of the DPS in groups.
PS: my healer: Asante Fyah on the same server.
- so 60 AST, 54 WHM, 51 SCH. In ARR I was SCH. My plan is to use WHM and AST in Stormblood, but she's an alt and I didn't make it to 60 in time for early access on WHM, but I added a few levels during the Raubahn (savage) event while fuming about in PotD last night... I will likely finish up WHM and then split her time evenly between that and AST using PotD to keep from falling too low to keep up with MSQ level reqs.

I did PvP for the first time in this game during the 'Raubahn (savage) event' as I was unable to beat that boss... and I found this 4.0 PvP, at least in Frontlines, to actually be good and enjoyable.
It reminds me of a miniature version of Guild Wars 2's WvWvW PvP system - which has long been one of the most popular staples of Guild Wars 2 (I don't play it, I'm not a PvPer, but about half that game's playerbase never leaves it - and historically they were always the "other" story-based-MMO aside from this game).
The new PvP seems so good that I might start giving this game props among the Guild Wars 2 people I know... as it might be a tool to lure them over here.

You clearly do not play or touched AST and SCH, because it does not make sense. You really have no fairy? you really can't AoE cards? you can't hold cards? did they really make it like this or missing commands somewhere? Melee LB is still too op as well, nerf melee LB in pvp or bring the others up to par with it.
The system itself is not what is confusing, more like, did they really do this? kind of confused.
As far healer DPS, its too slow, I am doing MSQ on DPS and Healer (2 different chrs, very easy to compare) and it is very clear they where made for DPS, not for healer. Healer DPS is also on the low end for trying to get full credit on fates, I can't even play SCH on them because the DPS is too low, I have to SMN.

AOE cards? What is that referring to?
Questing is always faster for DPS. I see no problem with that. Then again I leveled as a resto druid in classic WoW. I was playing MMOs for 3 years and even raiding before I knew you were supposed to be able to kill trash mobs faster than 1 per 3 minutes. And I pulled it off. This... this is easy mode compared to back then. We do enough to finish quests without lagging behind the other players by a notable amount. We don't need to do any more because our role is to heal, not to DPS.

Well the game is unplayable still at any 'normal' EU time because I am one of the chosen ones who lives on the Cerberus server.
I've managed to login for 20 minutes since the update. Which was past midnight UK time Thursday night. By which time I'd been drinking 4 hours and went to bed after checking my retainers and saying hello to the FC.



Well.. almost level 70. Queued for 50/60 roulette then black screen and DC. Queue time: 3,6. This is great![]()
Positives:
- The two new jobs are pretty fun
- What I've seen of the story is good so far (haven't been able to get past Raubahn...)
- Map UI improvements are A+
- I like some of the class changes, such as BRD
Negatives:
- MSQ walling off literally everything in this expansion
- Many of the job gauges seem pretty pointless and actually limit the availability of information/functionality. For example, I can no longer click off a drawn card buff early if I don't want to use it. I also can no longer see what cards another AST has held/drawn/royal roaded. Some gauges seem like SE just wanted to make something pretty. I like the gauges that added some extra functionality to the class, but not the ones that are purely cosmetic.
- The two maps I've been able to see so far feel much less open than even HW maps. Not as bad as ARR, but still...
- Reusing old gear appearances in dungeons (from what I've heard) is very disappointing.
- Still no real improvements on inventory issues/glamour...
- Incredible amounts of instance server issues
