Things you CAN do.

-Gathering Nodes
-- without passing the stupid quest you only have access to 2 ingredients from boteny and 3 from mining
Craft new items for a profit
-- without the above gathering options, there are 3-4 recipes you can make without buying overprice mats from the board

Could have done nearly everything there except level RDM and SAM without an expansion. Plus the instance servers worked and it didn't take >40 minutes to get in as a DD prior to yesterday.

Uh.... the 60 quests are in Idyllshire. You have to get to level 61+ to see all the other nodes, including a ton of collectibles.

So it's 5 from mining, 8 from botany from my count, in the areas you open up prior to Cold Steel.

Right now, there are people in Sargatanas that had made it through to the other side, and are ferrying people across to the other aetheryte to go explore.

It's actually depressing yet hilarious at the same time that this is a thing.

Sadly it's impossible to do ANY of those suggestions if you can't login without then immediately disconnecting the ONLY thing you can do is sit in a queue disconnect return to larger queue and rinse/repeat!

I can't level RDM or SAM to 60 very well because I can't access instanced content without getting a 90k, and wandering the open world is quite laggy. This also makes Gathering nodes quite unpleasant, and, oh - I only have access to the ones in the first couple of maps, which also limits my ability to craft the new items. I could spam FATEs, but the ones in the new maps (those that would help me level my main) are swamped due to people sitting around waiting for Raubahn, which causes lag and huge difficulty scaling. That leaves... Costa Del Sol. You're right, I can go swim in Costa Del Sol. Wooooo.

Can't do dungeons. The instance servers as a whole are failing. People are reporting 90002 or 90006 errors kicking them out of dungeons as they load and then they can't get back in till they are booted from the group or 30 minutes have past. I should know as I have this issue right now. Really only reliable thing right now is anything open world.

I agree... I've been playing quite a bit the last two days, just doing this and that. Starting to level RDM and SAM, crafting some new things for my house that suddenly has more space, gathering stuff that I know I'll need when I get around to leveling DoH classes. I'm headed out to Costa del Sol to see how the swimming is.

I can't believe some of the things I've read in this forum today--all the whining and salt. Overall, this game is far and away better for things like bugs and stability than WoW. These kinds of issues that we see in FFXIV today happen in WoW every. single. patch. Even the small ones!

Go play WoW for a bit, and then come back here and enjoy a product where you can tell that the devs pour their hearts and souls into it every day.
