Correct me if I'm wrong, but the early access/launch of HW did not have this many issues. I was able to get to Sohm Al on my first night of doing the MSQ during early access in 2015.
I'd like to know what was different this time around, besides the obvious ones, of course.

The only issue with HW early access I remember was a login queue for the first 2 or so days and that was it...Correct me if I'm wrong, but the early access/launch of HW did not have this many issues. I was able to get to Sohm Al on my first night of doing the MSQ during early access in 2015.

You were lucky then, I was unable to play HW before the official launch and I'd gotten the early access. It was impossible to log on as (IIRC) the login server crapped itself more often than not.

Yeah HW was hit or miss. Some people had queues but got in ok and all was well. Others couldn't at all. But I'd say those are pretty standard issues. Servers crapping out the first day or so is an unfortunate reality but otherwise there were no massive game breaking issues I recall once you could get in. ARR however had a similar issue with the MSQ and that is why in HW it was a long time before there was a solo instance, which gave the population time to disperse. That, more than anything, is what I find annoying. It was an issue that was addressed very well in HW and then somehow the whole design team had their memories of it wiped and here we are again.

Now that I am not longer affected by the daily post limit:You will, come Monday. There's no way this launch would have gone over 100% smoothly over the weekend. There's just too many people to handle.
You could have leveled in the meantime, since in HW the MSQ would only get you to around Level 55/56. Spend the time bridging that gap, like I did. And yes, the story is one of the main features for me too, but I expected something like this from the start. Because many people don't understand that spamming something is like DDosing a server and it only makes everything worse.
I find come monday to be unacceptable in this foreseeable situation.
And there were definitely ways for them to smoothen the experience in this foreseeable situation such as a solo instance queueing system so we don't have to spam Raubahn. It would reserve a spot, thus removing the luck element from getting in and allowing players to plan their time out as well as do other content while waiting. In addition it would eliminate the repeated instance requests. This is something that Square Enix should have foreseen and implemented well ahead of time and you can be sure I am going to mention Solo Instance Queues when it comes time to submit questions for the next live letter just to maximize the probability of this suggestion going through (I already posted it in the suggestion forum).
Next, while HW MSQ exp may not have been enough to level from 50 to 60, the amount of EXP you are getting from MSQ in SB suggests that you would be able to get to 70 from MSQ alone.

Other instanced content isn't working fine. It's d/c every couple of minutes. The amount of PotD losses we had yesterday due to time running out (0-70) was insane. One person would get in, someone else would d/c, then everyone gets kicked and can't get back in because it's the duty server. I am currently at 2.5 hours of trying to get back in after a PotD d/c. It's far from just being that one quest that's jacked up. I got on at 4 am yesterday, didn't go to bed until 10pm. I got RDM to 56 which is just freaking stupid. Today I got 2 more levels before the crap kicked in again.
Hubby took a day off work yesterday to get a jump start on things, that was a wasted vacation day of epic proportions.
