I don't find early-access to be anything more than just what's being said. You get to experience something before others, akin to special midnight showings of new popular movies. Damn right it's gonna be packed as hell, probably uncomfortably so, but that's part of the price you pay if you wanted it at that time. Hell, there's even the risk of it being completely ruined because there's so many people lol.

It is no different than special screenings of a new movie. It will be crowded, it will take extra time, and there's a good chance that there will be disruptions and other interruptions during the movie.

For those claiming SE is incompetent because they should have anticipated/foreseen this... you couldn't be more wrong. Of course they knew this was coming... but it's one of those things they can't do anything about. They waited to see just how many people they could have at once without crashing the server and then limited it.

It's like any special event where there's going to be a lot of people. The city can plan for police to guide traffic all they want, but there's still going to be massive slowdowns and crowding.

Anyone who expected anything different of any release, early access or not, simply hasn't experienced it.

Don't get me wrong though, if they have the budget to do it, it'd be nice... but as someone that deals with annual budgets being controlled by other people that penny pinch, I can imagine it's kind of hard to change their mind on something unnecessary. I mean, we are talking about a situation where the problem is a result of funneling players through content, creating a problem that necessitated a bottleneck limit. Once that's been dealt with and people spread out more, it probably won't be an issue, hence why it's probably acknowledged as temporary (for now).

If thats the case, then they should not block the entire expansion behind a quest that will have performance bottlenecks.

I have to agree with you. I\\'m usually not upset over issues but this one really has left a bad taste in my mouth. I really don\\'t care about this sorry excuse of an apology. Most of the expansion is gated behind one issue and they don\\'t seem concerned about it at all. It would be different if you could move on without this quest. You can\\'t even complete the first dungeon. By the time I get to the story a I\\'m probably going to be too annoyed to enjoy. If this continues for too long I\\'m sure it will turn people away from the game.

Pretty sure elsewhere they had said they were going to stress test the servers and see how they did. They have their answer, they are working to fix it. Read what's actually addressed instead of blaming something wholly unrelated as I've seen in this thread. I'm disappointed too, but whining gets you nowhere.

Okay! So about 10 minutes after logging out my BF got in, so I logged back in and after 3 attempts got into the fight. Yay!

And it's because complacent people like you that game launchs will continue to be crappy forever. They CAN fix this, but they won't, cause they know that most players are complacent and will forget it 2 or 3 days after.

It's funny how companies won't give up on their rights no matter what, but players are asked to give up on theirs all the time, fair and just, huh?
