So, lots of people have already made their points on the massive issues present with the MSQ bottleneck currently affecting players, but there's another thing I wanted to bring up. If there's anyone out there who was planning to journey through the expansion with friends as I was, it's even worse, due to the fact that you cannot queue as a party and there is no way to know who will get in except by random chance. I finally got through Cold Steel this morning after waking up at 5 AM and spamming Raubahn for several hours. However, my friend has not been so lucky, and so 10 hours later, we are still unable to proceed in the MSQ together.
I've reached a point of incredible frustration. The apology amounts to "wait and try again at a later time." Considering 95% of the expansion's content is gated behind the MSQ, your options are: do old content or grind collectibles in the Fringes. New leves, new hunts, flying, trials, dungeons... every single bit is gated behind this duty. It's been over 24 hours since launch, and no signs of improvement or word of a real fix. This is a travesty.
Also, a second point. After finally getting into this duty, it's become apparent to me that there's another reason for the bottleneck. The enemies are incredible HP sponges that the NPCs rail on while you go kill some adds that show up and die in 2-3 GCDs. The result is an artificially long duty that presents no real threat except for a small dps check at the end. I understand that server congestion is a very real and difficult to manage issue, but please consider knocking off a large portion of enemy health so people who do get in can at least move through the duty quickly and free space for others.
Anyways, thanks for reading. I hope Enix seriously takes notice of this issue and communicates more with the players. I feel very much let down by them at the point, the first time I've really felt this way while playing this game.
