Early Access: Company Expectation vs Player and Dev Expecations

I wonder what 'Early Access' meant to SE compared to the players and devs. Were they expecting a limited number of people compared to the current active playerbase would pre-order and demand access, and were overwhelmed by the response? What exactly was going through their mind when they decided to create content gates that led to overall instability?

Early Access as a Marketing Gimmick is raw corporate greed. A lot of people are going to rush to this point and say "This is it! This is the reason! This is why we're all mad!" And to be honest, I'd have to agree - this looks like a pure cash grab that sacrificed customer experience/service in the name of the almighty dollar. SE, that's how you look right now.

Wish you devs - those who love the game not for money but for what it is - stuck in the middle of this current quagmire the best of luck - the best, get sleep and stay fed and watered. You're going to need it for release.

Honestly they should call it a beta access instead then maybe the MSQ being completely broken would have been taken a bit easier

Completely disagree. I would 100% rather have maintenance than this complete BS RNG instance lockout they have going on now.

Honestly they should make EA a little more exclusive because this is basically a launch. I'm having a hard time thinking of a player base waiting until the 20th to play. I personally should not have early access , I registered last week after 2 months, and preordered on the 14th, the last day. No way should I have qualified for an EA imo.

If they don't want to fix an issue that has been happening since 2.0 launch, than EA needs to be a bit more limited and exclusive so this problem doesn't keep happening.

As it looks now, EA is basically a gimmick to get the money ASAP and its an early launch with an infrastructure that cant handle it. You want to keep the servers as is fine, wait for your money and restrict EA a bit.

I don't know anyone who's gotten past that stupid Cold Steel MSQ part yet. I've had friends who are just basically waiting endlessly in the hopes they can get it done. To hear that this is still a problem, that a huge chunk of the playerbase is STUCK behind one little thing, yeah it's just as bad if not worse than the Heavensward Early Access. Want to do FATE grind, sure but there will be so many others that mobs just pop in and out of existence. POTD? Instance servers also seem to pop in and out of existence and cram players back in the QUEUE. Only thing I've seen that players have been able to do is PVP.
