For People who took a day off just for early access

It's something that you just never, ever do. If you've played any MMO in the past, at this point it would just seem like you're complaining for the sake of complaining.

Early Access periods always unexpectedly become stress-tests for established and popular MMOs - especially ones as heavily marketed as this expansion. World of Warcraft suffers from the same problems for each expansion and content patch.

I only had to take off today because I legitimately was sick. My boss isn't counting it against me because I'm in training right now to get promoted into a new position. FFXIV was the only entertainment I had. I have been able to play, but I only got up to Best Served with Cold Steel and was never able to enter it.

I'm not complaining. I wasn't expecting to be held hostage by the server, but I chalked it up to an issue with the expansion being in early access. So I started leveling Red Mage, and have been enjoying it.

I am kinda grateful I took a day off only to be convinced to go on a one-day trip with my family.

Perhaps I'm jaded and cynical, but after playing mmorpgs as long as I have and going through countless title launches, expansion launches and all else over these years you just sort of expect it to happen.

I fact you should PLAN on it happening. It's basically par for the course.

Which is why taking off work expecting to play all day is a bad idea.

Rule #1 of mmorpg launches/expansion drops.

Never take off work day 1.

I did the same when Heavensward came out. It was not as bad as what we are experiencing today.

I think it's somewhat better than heavensward..when I took off a week for that, I spent more of that time not even playing the game. I couldn't even login.

oh i expect server issues dont get me wrong that usually doesnt bother me, i was more refering too the bottlenecking solo duty instance that is basically the main cause of all of this, i kinda expected SE to be a little smarter than this honestly..

I kinda expected this trouble, to be honest. I just spend the time relaxing, chatting with people. Catching up with old friends, and getting some gameplay in. I got RDM, I got Samurai, I got to play the story up to the chokepoint. I'm good for my day spent.

Well mr grown ass adult male you did a very irresponsible and childish thing to take a work day off to play a video game. Its down right stupid. You have the right to take a day off yes but it doesn't make it any less stupid. Secondly no one forced you to take it off so if YOU wasted your time its your OWN fault.
