Again back to what I said befor, "Work. With. You're. Guild." Less you will need to hold on to, less crafting items, less junk.

To many ppl are still trying to master every craft and job in the game, pick 3-4 at a time, stop trying to do it all and maybe you will have more spaces.
Yup, because everything I have is "useless crap", because I haven't toss any of the stuff that can be repurchase from NPC or stuff into the armoire, because the FC chest belong to every single member in the FC and has been granted full access rights and we don't use it for anything else like materials to craft FC buffs or the stuff the airship carry back.

Also, I like how your FC member seems to be around 24/7 or just anytime you're online and wish to craft. At least that's how it sounds like to me from the way you're saying it. And also, did I mentioned something about convenience again?

"useless junk"..yeah right..like my third (paid) retainer who is stuffed full with glamour and housing items that I cant purchase easily again or cant put it in the chest. I own a duo FC with a rl friend so I have a whole company chest for me alone. I use it to store old housing items that can be put there, minions and gathering item. But how exactly would a FC help you anyway? In my old FC where I was part of the leaders we had a strict use of the chest, simply because we needed quite the space for all those airship parts and stuff that dropped there and if you have more than a handful members those other parts can be filled quite quickly. So no that is not a solution.

Also if you have read the thread you would have noticed that a lot people would simply want other ways to store some certain items. Why do we not have a fishing box? So many different kind of baits but no good way to store them. (And yes I dont own everyone of them but at least half of my own inventory is filled up with bait that I need often enough) Then we have currencies that we simply cant give someone else (cant trade to alt and cant be put into the FC chest) which we will need to hold on for a certain amount of time to get the item. If you are interested in birds, scrips and other stuff you will need quite the space.

Then lets not forget all those event housing items that you cant buy anywhere else but also cant put somewhere save. So people who may still plan to use them will have to store them away too. (Or have to buy them again for RL money..)

And last all the glamour that is either exclusive but not storeable (like some cash shop stuff..) or dungeon gear that is not tradeable so you cant give it to alt characters and is not easy to farm again..we are not talking about glamour that can be crafted ingame..

If you on top of all this glamour stuff are even kinda interested in crafters and gatherers you will run into problems somewhere down the road.

All of those points are some of the biggest reasons why one can have space problems and they could be solved by introducing a fishing box, let event housing items be put into the special chest along with event clothing, have a glamour book where we can put all those dungeon gear and so on. They dont even need to increase the space at all. They simply need to introduce those features.

At the end it was said that glamour is the most important thing in FF14 (maybe a bit jokily) and Yoshida answered with "Yes I know" and laughs. So maybe just maybe we will see some changes for glamour in 4.x..(or maybe not)

FC chest is used for airship mats, FC housing, item donations to other members (sometimes easier put them in here vs mail, I know people that do huge value trades though it because of the 1 M cap) and maybe sending items to your alts, it is not a personal space unless you own your own personal FC. Even limited to that, FC space is tight. So like you, I got no clue what Hazuki87 is talking about.

I love when non-crafters tell people how to manage their items, then complain about "omicrafters" beaus they can't do it. Do you even know how much space and how much past materials a 4 star craft takes? lamo. Having someone tell us pick 3-4 crafts only, only proves there is a problem with not giving us enough space to play the game.

I've found that when I spend more time wrestling with the game interface, than actually playing the game, I tend to enjoy the game a lot less.

I've also found that the more time I've spent with an interface, the more often certain UI issues start to stand out. Funny thing is, these same issues didn't really bother me as much when I first started the game. I suppose certain task just become more and more grating after going through the same sequence of steps, potentially thousands of times. Obviously these issues aren't going to be as apparent to players that have either not played the game long enough, or those that just don't use certain areas of the UI nearly as often as others.

I like to call it "interface fatigue," and right now I'm getting pretty tired. I'd imagine a good many other players are feeling the same.

Since there's suggestion of expanding the armoire system in place of a glamour log before, I'll just like to highlight that the armoire interface have a display limit of 135 items (at least for the seasonal items tab), even though it's capable of holding more items than that. Just found out about this via coincidence today. Wonder if that's why SE didn't expand on the system? Though a search box can help as a workaround.

Yoshi said in the live letter yesterday they might tie armor sets to achievements. So you have an achievement and you can acquire the armor set tied to that achievement for glamouring. It's clunky, but it's a start.

As I recall, he said it was possible to do.

He did say they were discussing their options internally.

Yup, he also mentioned that special achievement might unlocked by something like clearing Ifrit EX 20 times. (Basically clearing X instance Y times) Made me a little sad to stay awake for the LL to get this answer. T-T

So would they tie every armor set in a dungeon to an achivement or just some? Because if its the first you could just simply allow all dungeon loot to be put into the chest. And if its the latter than nothing really was done against the problem itself. I also fear that doing something like this would mean that they wont look into other ways to decrease our inventory problems because they will feel like they did anything necessary. (And after that be annoyed that the community is not fine with a band aid x))

Letter from the Producer LIVE Part IX Q&A Summary (10/30/2013)
Q: Will there be any maintenance fees or other costs for housing, besides the cost of the land and house?
A: In older MMOs, such as Ultima Online, there was a house maintenance fee you had to pay weekly, but in FFXIV: ARR we decided against this system. Similarly, these older MMOs also had a system where your house would break down if you didn’t log in after a while in order to have you continue your subscription, but this is a thing of the past and we won't have any system like that.

I agree. We cannot let them think achievements and the Calamity Salvager are enough.
