Peeps have started the initiative for an EU RP server alternative like a month ago and it was just a matter of which of the new servers. With there only being one, I imagine that's no longer a question.

Unless you're in the EU and moving to get a better ping, there's really no incentive to transfer characters.

Create new characters on the new servers/designated servers? Sure. Since you can get a free 15 days of playtime for those that care. But you only really get 10 silver/gold feathers as a reward for transferring, which is nothing... no real incentive.

The only thing Im not okay with, is giving the new folks who reach lvl 30 on Omega, a free 1mil gil (with or without account restrictions). Other folks who just recently created characters on other worlds deserve the same treatment.
Though, in my opinion, they should all have to earn it like everyone else.

Other than that, I hope the transferring with a house option becomes a feature permanently. It would definitely make things easier on folks who want to swap servers but dont want to lose the time/gil they put in on their house. Atleast they'd be compensated for the house/plot itself. Though, I'm not sure 3mil to cover non-removable furnishings is enough. Either way... its something!

Housing could be a incentive for some people. Shiogane or whatever may not appeal to everyone, me including and knowing people they gonna be dick about it not use the moving feature and sell their plots just like today.

Yes, your retainers move with you, as do all the items you have stored on them (including gil you may have given them).

Also, If you wanted to name change at the same time, you could create a character on your target world with the same name as your current character before you move. Then it will force a name change after the transfer because the name would be taken.

I think you have to start a new FC as there is no option to move everyone at the same time. That being said, I'm not entirely certain what happens when an FC master switches servers. It may just ask you to create a new FC name if its taken already on the new server.
Can someone else clarify this?

Step 1: Confirm Your Eligibility
The following conditions must be met before using the World Transfer Service:

You must be logged out of the game.
Your character cannot be enlisted in a free company, holding a free company petition, or signed to a free company petition.
* If enlisted in a free company, your character must leave it before applying for World transfer.
Your character cannot be undertaking the special quest "The Ties that Bind."
Your character cannot have a reservation pending for a Ceremony of Eternal Bonding.
Your character cannot be in possession of a blank invitation or a ceremony invitation.
Your character cannot own a plot of land, an estate, or an apartment on their current World.
Your character cannot be sharing an estate with another character.
Your character cannot have items for sale on the market.
Your character cannot have items entrusted to the Calamity Salvager NPC.
Your character must retrieve all optional items delivered via the moogle delivery service.
In the event your estate or private chambers have been automatically relinquished, your character cannot have housing items in the care of the resident caretaker or a chocobo in the care of the housing enthusiast.
Your character must rehire any retainers carried over from Version 1.0.
Your character must be logged out outside of any instanced areas including dungeons, residential areas, and the Ivory Chapel.
If you have purchased a character name change, the option must be available on the character selection screen.
You must possess an active service account for FINAL FANTASY XIV.
You must have characters present on your service account.
The character you wish to transfer must be at least three days old.
More than three days must have passed since last using the World Transfer Service.
Your service account cannot be suspended due to a violation of Terms of Service or a hold on the account.

So the answer would be, you'd have to start a new FC on the target world.

I've got a 1.0 char that I didn't realise existed (she has the tattoo but no legacy status - would've loved to have had that tattoo on my main but alas, I made too much progress on main by the time I found out) until a few months ago. She's stuck on Ridill (JP) as a remnant of Selbina (made her on there as I'm an ex-FFXI player) so I might transfer her to Omega. If I do this, can I transfer anyone else under this initiative or is it a once per account thing? Thanks.
