Oh, I know. It's just the way Yoshi spoke that made it sound like they were only doing it for the new servers. I certainly hope that doesn't turn out to be the case otherwise they're nuts thinking people will transfer off Balmung or Gilgamesh. The post on the lodestone that OP linked (i think, didn't actually click it lmao) pretty clearly states that the bonuses apply to both new and designated servers. The only thing making me worry is that it doesn't say that transfers to new worlds will be free, even though everything else is typed twice...
You beat me to it :P
tl:dr with important information from that post:
There is 1 new EU world, Omega. The transfer Gil cap has is now 999,999,999 Gil.
Bonus for new characters on Omega:
Double xp until level 60
10 silver chocobo feathers
Bonus at level 30:
15 free days of play time
1,000,000 Gil
Bonus for transfered Characters:
free transfer
10 golden chocobo feathers
If you transfer with a house, you get the Gil that cost back + gil for furniture you can't get back
Also, ay characters on Omega, be it new or tranfered, can't be transfered away for 90 days.
dank meme
So... the incentive for existing players to transfer over is 10 gold feathers. A bit underwhelming.
edit: I'll still probably take it. The NA ping issues have increased for whatever reason, and it went from mild to terribly annoying.
Here's hoping the server is a success and I won't end up joining a dead one.

Ok, so if I get this right, we will only be able to make use of this if we transfer from a "High Population" server to a "Designated" server. So that means the european players who got hit hard by the data center relocation but have a character on a medium/low population server wont be able to make use of this to move to the european datacenter?
If so, then that sucks pretty hard for those players... (possibly me included)
Nevermind.... I now see that anyone can make use of this when transfering to the new world Omega but only players on high pop servers can make use of this when transfering to the already existing "designated" worlds.

I'm tempted to move one of my alts to check it out. If I have to "leave" him there for 90 days fine
Yoshi-p mentioned it in the E3 live letter last night and said we get more information on the 15th.May I ask where you heard those additional bits i.e. unlimited gil and transferring housing plots? The second is a bit much because it means most of the plots may be gone if you don't already have some which is pretty demotivating! I hope that's not the case and you need to get it like everyone else!
Later: guess the information already posted

Have they specified the designated servers yet or is it too early in the morning and I'm not seeing it?
"Transferring from a high population World to a designated World will earn you the bonuses..""Creating a new character on a designated World will earn you the bonuses.."Anyone have the list of high population worlds and designated ones?"These bonuses will remain in effect until the active player population of congested and designated Worlds has stabilized ... if a World is removed from the "Designated" category, the EXP bonus will no longer be applied."
