This. Or try looking for one with a mechanical drive then buy an ssd later on to save cost. Still, you'll prolly have to look for a refurbished or a 2nd hand with that budget.

You can also try checking out this link for Clevo laptop resellers near your area and try to configure a laptop that will fit your budget. The downside is I doubt it will be available at Stormblood launch since they still have to build and test it.

Don't listen to those saying you need a ti, I have tested my friends out and mine and they both play on max with 60fps. Only reason to worry would be if you plan on playing new pc games and at that point you're looking at play at least $1600 and should probably get something bettter than a 1060 actually to try to do a little future proofing.

You should be fine with this throughout the entire life of 14

I have a couple of spare SSD's so would be looking to swap out any mechanical drives for these asap - fortunately I have my desktop computer so I don't need the laptop for SB's launch but would hopefully like to pick something up over the coming weeks

How did you fair with the Benchmark for Stormblood? (Just so I can compare to other scores to get an idea of the direct performance difference).

Additionally, and although I've already stated this (twice) I'm not looking for a desktop alternative, I realise you can get more for your money if buying a desktop but I already own a desktop running an i5 CPU and GTX980Ti GPU so its not a case of something to play Stormblood, more a case of something else to play Stormblood on when traveling/away from home with no access to the gaming PC.

Again note the reason for hat high score with a 1050 M is the processor, and even then it had FPS problems, you do not know what areas you might encounter here you need med-low settings because of FPS issues.(anything lower then 60 has fps issues and that 7k score came with a 49 FPS, so the settings are too high if you want real playable game) If you are fine with that go get a 1050m but remember, the 1050/1050 ti mobile is weaker then then a 970M (the test I shown you) should clue in how much the processor matters as well.

If you can't get a 1060+m, wait till something on that power gets cheaper or find raiden equivalent.

When you say travel and such, does that mean you will be going off battery or plug in? performance plumits hard off battery.

How do I know FPS will be an issue off a 1050/ti? Cuz I have a 1070M, it does break under 60 in some situations at times and that wipes the floor over a 1050. (Plus that test said so the AVERAGE is 49, meaning it had sinks under that) But then again my sever is a major factor in that too when you have high rendering objects.

(on that subject what is the setting to see more? I see npcs get hidden at times at GS)

I'm most likely going to hold on it for now, continue my research and wait for the back-to-school offers in August/September, initially I was going to look to buy this month but in waiting the extra few I chance a sale/promotion and it also gives me a few more months to save the additional £££ to put towards a slightly better configuration.
