There have been a few yes. The most prominent that I remember are the Arcanist Guild leader (who likes to take enthusiastic walks across the country.), G'raha from the Crystal Tower raid, and the male m'iqote that you talk to to get Wanderer's Place HM. I believe the leader of Tailfeather is also a male mi'qote.

The point is that even taking into account the extremely minor characters, we are a very underused race/gender.

...and the males Miqo'tes ARE supposed to be rare. Part of the reason that XIV didn't originally have playable male miqo'tes (and the same reason why XI didn't have playable ones either.) is because they ARE rare. You could delete half of the current PC male ones right now and still have more then there probably should be. Hell XI to my understanding had literally only one male Mithra appear at all.

I'm reading through the lore book, and it actually says nothing about them being rare. What you are likely thinking of is the entry listed under seekers of the sun specifically:

The seekers of the sun are a highly patriarchal culture, with each tribe centered around a strong breeding male whose duty it is to form a harem and lead his people to glory and prosperity
Keepers of the moon are not like this:

In contrast to seekers of the sun, with their male-dominated tribes and harems, the fundamental unit of keeper of the moon society is the family, centered around a strong mother figure and children. Keepers are known to form small communities composed of two to three families who hunt together.
This is purely about culture and has no bearing on birth rate, and is also kind of irrelevant as this is disregarding integration into eorzean culture (compare yugiri to the tribes on the azim steppe as an example). I could potentially believe that seekers are rarer due to in-fighting for power, but keepers should at least be visible within society more than it is.

Here's a quote from the lore forums thread on Miqo'te naming conventions:

Though there are ten suffixes listed above, rarely do even the largest Keeper of the Moon families have more than two or three sons. This is not by choice. Nature merely sees to it that more females are born to this race.
It also states that for Seekers of the Sun, a Nunh-to-female ratio of about 1:10 or 1:50 is average. Even if we account for the fact that a few Tia are also about, there are clearly far more female Miqo'te.

I see, thanks for the info. Weird that such a vital part of their race isn't in the lore book.
