Reason for Lack of Miqo'te in MSQ?

It was my understanding that Miqo'te tribes -- Sunseeker and Moonkeeper alike -- were fairly insular, which might explain at least in part why there aren't a ton of them running about as far as the story is concerned.

It was also my understanding that there are simply more female Miqo'te born than males (was that just a weird assumption I made?), which might also help to explain why male Miqo'te have a somewhat weaker main story presence than females -- unless your WoL is a mancat, of course.

Miqote have the only child quest giver in the game.. and her sister who also pushes you to do stuff.

Technically that is inaccurate. There is a low level elezen child in Gridania that gives you a quest to do emotes to try to cheer up his friend. https://ffxiv.gamerescape.com/wiki/For_Friendship
Also, I vaguely recall some child npc's during Yugiri's stint in Mor Dhona. Cant recall if they gave you a quest though.

From what I understand by the lore of FF14 world is that Miqo'te community are often small together due to how usually the majority of Miqo'te population is Females with maybe one or two males involved with reproduction.

Lore wise the Miqo'te race consist of mostly Female Miqo'te and very few male Miqo'te thus having very low population in the world due to low birth rates.

Y'shtola is all you pretty much need. SE knows no other Miqo'te can top her, so there will be no future Miqo'te in the MSQ.

More seriously we have the various parts of the U'tribe in ARR around the titan stuff. More on it later in the game. Nasu in Hildey quests. The Armorer Guild Master, two Miqo in arcanist. Your Rival in the 50-60 Culinary stuff. Lalas and Hyur are the most common types but you have a sprinkling of others out there with HW notably skewing towards Elezen. According to the Encyclopedia Ala Migo has a solid Sun Seeker minority so we might see more with SB.

There are quite a lot of Miqote around. Maybe not in major significant roles though. Do remember we have been mainly hanging out in places like Ishgard recently were there are nearly no native Miqote. Part of the reason is Miqote tribes mainly live away from the main city state hubs.

There are probably a lot more. I am tired and not really trying hard to think of any significant ones. Part of the issue is there isn't a Miqote dominant nation. Like their are with Roe, Lala, Elezen and Hyur (and soon to be Au Ra). As a result their presence is a lot more defused. That said, I certainly wouldn't be opposed to more Miqote turning up. I do notice that a lot of that list are Sunseekers.

There are heaps of Roe, particularly of the Sea Wolf variety.

It needs to be pointed out however that with the exception of Arcanist/Summoner/Scholar, All the V2.0 classes/jobs came directly from 1.0, including their storylines (though the cinematics changed a little,) so the lack of Male Miqo'te is because there were none in that game. I can't speak for the Rogue/Ninja class as I didn't play it, and it wasn't in V1.0 either. V3.0 takes place almost entirely in Ishgard, land of the Elezen.

Expect V5.0 to be the land of the Male Moonseekers to the east of Gridania, it would make sense.

(Though seriously, lore-wise, the Miqo'te came from somewhere else during the 5th Umbral era, so there is no reason not to find an actual cultural hub somewhere. If we take the lore as anything solid, it's likely that there is even another race of people with animal traits out there on the same continent.)

I think if I remember right, Miqo'te mostly live in tribes away from the city states, those that leave the tribes tend to take up adventuring rather than settling down in a city.
It's a big world out there (in theory) so we hardly ever run across the tribes, and our adventures tend to be a tad grander than most, so we never really run across the cat people who left home. Apart from all the Miqo'te players ofc .
