I'm assuming it's more Britain than America. The anthem at the start is very reminiscent of Hail Britannia, and their relation to Allag is arguably similar to Britain's relation to Rome.
Dead, dead, dead, explosions, explosions, dead and explosions.
Yes this expansion is gonna be good.
Which is exactly why I personally don't think she dies there. Gravely injured for sure, but not dead. If they didn't have her new powers draining from her life force when she came back I would be more worried but the set-up from HW leans more towards Matoya eventually dieing "her way" while also saving Y'shtola from her sickness.
Really though all this worry over Y'shtola and a little for Alisaie but none for Krile? Of the three I'm actually more worried for her even if she didn't look to be in immediate danger. The way the trailer is cut actually makes me think of the three she will end up being the one to die.
Also on "spoilers": Does NOBODY remember the HW trailers and how people were complaining about them back then too? Yet outside of the end of ARR (which by that point most people should have known about.) nothing was truly spoilery about the expansion. So keep your heads on people.
Loved seeing some FF8 enemies
I can't see Alisaie dying now that she's finally involved again and is acting as the party's red mage representative. Krile, however... I'd be reminded of a certain femRoe, but by the same token, not surprised.Which is exactly why I personally don't think she dies there. Gravely injured for sure, but not dead. I understand where you are coming from there, but Krile atleast was around longer and had a bit more time for us to actually care in comparison. Plus it looks like whatever is happening with her won't happen till near the end of 4.0 and thus gives even more time for us to care.
I remember when patch 3.3 trailer video aymeric was stabbed with a knife and everyone lost their minds thinking he was going to die... spoilers.. he lived. Point is... until I see a body on the ground lifeless they are not dead.
If Y'shtola is killed by Zenos then no mercy any more towards the emperor. He is a dead man. The Calamity will look like a Sunday picnic compared to what I say we do to him.
Dunno, if anyone noticed or not but, is it just me or is (assuming this is her speaking) Yotsuyu's english VA kinda... ill fitting. It's just so high pitch, especially in comparison to the Japanese VA, who I found fit her character like a glove.
Edit: In the end this doesn't matter to me much as I play the game in Japanese anyway but, was just something curious I noticed.
Considering everything we know so far, it's not unlikely that Y'shtola dies for real. After all, even if she does miraculously end up surviving that, let's not forget that she is already slowly dying because of her constant use of Aether to see.
Addtionally, we've seen so much material of Lyse for this expansion, it's not inconcievable to believe that SE might be trying to replace Y'shtola with Lyse as FFXIV's poster child.
