Normally hate replying to a 30+ page thread but...

My only issue with healers DPSing topic is that the lazy healers are called out more then the lazy tanks and lazy DPS.

If I notice the DPS is half in there, I should be allowed to do the same. However the second I do, my healer brothers and I get called out for it?

I love dpsing on my whm. Holy spam gets me off like nothing else. But if I'm the only one paying attention in the dungeon, I should be able to put on Netflix like everyone else.

That's all I ask, and quite frankly that's what I think a lot (not all) of the other healers are asking too.

Ok, but... no one at all has said it is ok for a DPS/Tank to slack either. A slacking tank is bad. A slacking dps is bad. A slacking healer is bad. It really is that simple. As for why healers get talked about more... because people keep making flipping topics about how they shouldn't be expected to dps. If tanks were posting that they shouldn't have to or dps were posting that they shouldn't have to then you would see people flipping out on them too.

It really doesn't matter what he says. Just like if a DPS or tank doesn't put up a good enough effort today or tomorrow, you'll be judged and there will always be better players to recruit and pool from over a 0 DPS "raid" healer.

Most good end-game players today can tell you that the 0 DPS healers they probably ran into tend to not even be that good at healing either. They just overheal all over the place, playing the top-off game. Compared to a healer that knows the damage script, tank busters, and when they can push damage. That's a sign of someone who knows their job and skills they have well. No one was ever asking for lights-out healer DPS numbers, just a good enough effort. Do you really think this player compares to a stand-around 0 DPS healer? Not at all.

Still YoshiP cleverly acknowledges the skill gap with that statement, and also the absolute need of healer DPS in early savage progression which he has always been saying through out HW. That will always be true. Even in Creator you wouldn't even be clearing A11S in the first weeks or month (October/November) without a good amount of healer DPS from both players. Today if you do savage, they get away because of dps carry/echo/gear inflation/etc.

That's my point though. There is no thread about lazy DPS or tanks. It's only ever healers that get brought up. Yes there are some threads the healers themselves bring up and cry... but many... many others are brought up and continued to spammed by non healers.

And to answer the other quote (sorry on my phone). Oh I completely agree. Bad and lazy is bad and lazy, regardless of role. My only issue is there's an unfair hate towards only one role for it... and if I had to guess many of those hating on lazy healers are in fact lazy dps.

Not all. Maybe not you. But I've done... many... many dungeons... as every role... and god those DPS are so... so lazy a good 80% of the time. Only cause they can get away with it.

I very much advocate for being annoyed if someone is doing basically nothing regardless of their role. Problem is the dps version of "Healers don't have to dps" is "it's my sub don't tell me how to play" and tanks act that way as well.

And to Evergrey, I respond in kind. I'm only playing extremes because it feels like you are. I'm not saying healers need to be performing at peak capacity (God knows df dps don't >.>; ) but any contribution when a heal is nice. ABC is a good rule of thumb no matter the role.
