You cant kill him before he casts hellfire as he will hellfire at 15-20% no matter how long he has left on the nail phase timer, meaning he can cast hellfire 30 seconds into the nail phase if you have enough damage on him instead of the usual 1 minute.
Also eruptions shouldn't be a problem if the dps are moving correctly, in phase 1 you can move and continue damaging ifrit with no downtime, in phase 3 you should have very little to no downtime depending on if it spawns on you and phase 5 with 6 lancers should be dead before he has a chance to use more than 1-2 abilties.
Either way congrats on the kill guys very nice, although 6 minutes isn't really that fast from personal experience but you're healer was very impressive.
But you are healer was very impressive, GDI Peng.
Nice kill, we really should just start a "Can you top this kill time" thread somewhere. Not to belittle your kill, in fact, great job on it.

Nice kill, 'gratz gaiz!
nice win. so just put in damage dealers and zerg.
Hey Bam bam congratz! been seeing ya running around ^_^/
I think we need to reassess how battle mechanics work as it seems to me that Gladiator doesn't seem to use their sword in terms with their shield.
We were the first to kill Ifrit.
Could have Bloodbath and Blindside in a "buff up" macro along with Raging Strike, Ferocity, etc.Good job on that. My only question is, and I see this a lot, why are some of the Lancers using things like Bloodbath when their health is full or Blindside and then attacking from the side or front? I saw someone doing this early on, I've seen it a lot in the past though. I dunno, it just strikes me as odd when people seem to throw buffs in there for no particular reason. Maybe I'm just missing something, I dunno.
Other than that though, again good job on that. Congratulations and whatnot.

While that explains the behavior in the video, it's a waste of time on occasions in which you don't need Bloodbath. Unnecessary animation lock. Same deal with Blindside if you're unable to or unwilling to attack from the rear.
Better yet, 4 LNCs and 4 minutes, 42 seconds.
A 3 to 3.5 minute kill should be doable with 6 LNCs, potentially 5.

Right but in that case with some of them, like Bloodbath, they may not be up when you need them. Things like Bloodbath don't take extra HP from an enemy, it just heals you based on the damage done. Or in the case of Invigorate, using it when you have 3k TP is a waste. Just wait until you actually need TP, then use it. It isn't as bad as it used to be but back when buffs generated crazy enmity it was really bad to see people doing that. I dunno, I'd rather use them strategically when they are useful rather than just spamming them to get the highest number of uses out of them. You can still drain HP even when yours is full. It still affects the target. As for the front Ifrit's horns can be incapped but you need to hit him from the front. hey were using their buffs even when they didn't have TP to get the maximum number of uses out of it throughout the battle. The sooner you use it the sooner recast will be up.
What Carraway said, my LS's personal best is around 6min 7 seconds with 4 LNC, 1 MRD, 3 CNJ. With 6 LNC we could probably be in the 4 minute mark, and that isn't anywhere near worthy to have my own thread about it.
