The loudest healers are the DPS healers/raiders. They complain about anything that sabotages or designed against their ability to attack. A lot of them are in it only to cheese the system as it allows them to evade responsibilities and mechanics aimed squarely at the DPS. I've met some who'd absolutely refused to roll as DPS for the sole sake of not dealing with timers offing off in like Thordan EX or Sophia EX. Those who do it only to Q dodge isn't anything new. Loads of those who'd advocate even try to force other players into doing so will throw standards completely out the window to applaud you for slinging stone 1 at level 58 even though the PLD and SMN are doing the healer's job that they were suppose to be here for:in other words so bad they might as well not be there. So good! They should go back to DPS where they belong so that we can finally have a decent gap in the skill disparity, unless they actually suck at it, considering the healers have the easiest DPS rotations.
My concern is that system changes surrounding this might contradict itself again like it did since Gordias Savage, where next to nothing challenged the healer directly with problems or mechanics only they can solve, making the whole thing too easy. And because healer DPS was NOT part of the DPS check's design, it allowed world's first and any who followed their example to rely on them and STR tanks to pick up the slack. 3.1 killed STR tanks but the healing scene remained unchanged. I'm concerned give SE's track record since 2.0 that it just might be too easy once again, there by ultimately changing nothing.
So I'm definitely going to stick to WHM as my main healer, while y'all focus on JUST the lillies and wonky tooltips from early previews.
I really hope you are right. Perople just seem very serious about switching to DPS![]()

I believe you can switch out role-actions during a dungeon run, as long as you're not in combat. So technically, you have all the skills available to you, and you can easily pick the ones you will need depending on the fight.Anticipation is a role action and you can only pick 5 of them. And there are like 3 dark knight skills in the role action list now. Low blow, repraisal and anticipation(dark dance with no evade).
Whose bloody smart idea was it to take away tank stuns and put in role action instead so we all have to stress upon which skills to pick for the 5.
of course, you won't KNOW what you will need until after you've done it for the first time, so there's that. But I mean hey, you only get 1 first time, and we'll most likely be doing those a lot more than just one time.
I actually wonder if this will cause a cooldown reset in the dungeon. That was always the most annoying thing outside of fights and outside of towns. When you swapped skills out on the current tab or adjusted, it reset all your CD's.I believe you can switch out role-actions during a dungeon run, as long as you're not in combat. War and Dk will be competing for OT slot i guess. Astro seems rather OP going into SB (as does SAM,..)
however they do still have time to make adjustments before release
I'm not looking forward to MNK or WHM changes honestly and since those are my main jobs, I'm really hard pressed as to which I'm going to level 1st.
If all else fails, I'm just gonna level crafters and gathers for the time being until a future patch even everything out, similar to how 3.1 fixed issues with DRG, PLD, etc.
I'm dreading bard changes, not wanting to have to completely relearn my job since i began playing. So might switch to war which i enjoyed already or possibly play whm more
Yoshi did say during the live letter that skill cooldown after changing jobs outside of sanctuaries would be gone. Don't think they specified it more closely than that general statement.
Yoshi-P is doing his best and is patching Endwalker. Please wait warmly until it is ready.
