The potency on it is completely unnecessary. I honestly can't see the waiting 10s for 900 potency AoE heal being necessary or even that useful for anything.

I already see potential use for it. With current content mind you, but still.

For instance, Mega Holy. We know when it's coming out. Prep Earthly Star in advance and it'll explode for a stronger than WHM heal right as it hits. Meanwhile you never had to stop dpsing.

Or in A11, Photon. Again, prep in advance, photon goes out, 900 potency heal and everyone is fine without you lifting a finger.

Even as far as Ahk Morn in Nidhogg.
I see tons and tons of uses like this in raiding content. And who knows what we'll see in SB. Prepping in advance, for a good healer, is second nature. So this in the hands of a good AST is a heal stronger than anything that WHM can even come close to for completely free without having to stop DPS.

yes, we know that...and frankly, those situations...really are where WHM was good for.

People are going to be able to do all of it unsynched and i'm afraid the general thought is going to be "Bring an AST, we know when it happens, pop this down and go".

I can see the use, and i can see where they're essentially giving WHM a huge infirmity of even being 'included' because of this.

Yes We're talking about Aspect Benefic the solo target HoT that AST provides in its Dir Sect stance.................however at no time has the base instant healing of Aspect Benefic ever!! been 200 while under Diur Sect..... CURRENTLY in Heavenward the base heal under Diur Sect is 190 potency THEN you get an additional 18 sec of 40 potency per tick.

The only Heal that AST has that has a base heal of 200 under Diur sect is Aspect Helio. And no I just check your post again and you did not list a time stamp (where exactly in the 9min video do we skip to see the actions in questions? 2:22? 0:42? where??)

Those are really some great examples!! I feel bad for my WHM ......

In the same damage window time frame WHM can match the AST ogcd+gcd aoe output; but we (WHMs) would have to use additional GCDs that AST can convert into DPS................

Regen in terms of FF games in general is not meant to be so potent that your cure spells are not needed. I am actually surprised SE hasn't nerfed it's potency into ground. It is clear to me that they want whms to cast their cure spells. You can expect this Nerf in a future patch. Especially when they see whms are still stacking HoTs like pancakes. I'll even put money on it.

Do you remember all the abuse hurled at ASTs in 3.0? Now, technically AST never needed a buff. At 3.0 it could do stuff just fine. It could probably have even cleared the raid tiers in competent hands. But it was markedly behind and... as mentioned, people were not kind to those playing the job and PFs locked them out..

This, this so hard. I used to be SCH main and played AST in 3.0 asap to show everyone that it can be good in loving healer hands.
Now i shall switch from AST to WHM to do the same again.
Let's not give in to not even 100% accurate informations and people who go crazy nuts over those. Simple as that: You like WHM? Play it. Don't let others tell you its "oh the worst job" before we even had the chance to play it at lvl 70.

What makes you think that the initial heal on Aspected Benefic is gone? Tooltips indicate it's still there. Even YOUR own video link has the same tooltip for Aspected Benefic as the one I posted.

Either you're riling me up for absolutely no reason or you need to reread the tooltips.

Again, 31 seconds in on Mr. Happy's video and you can see that Aspected Benefic has an instant heal portion to it.

I don't think anyone doubts WHM can do content. AST was different because it was new and therefore unproven.
