Viera as the next new race~ Show your support

I support Viera as a new race but find it unlikely they will add it anytime during SB. However I find it strange that SE has yet to respond to a thread that's now surpassed 100 pages of responses. It's pretty unprecedented and obviously the demand is there. The cost of making the race would, imo, easily be compensated by the amount of people that permanently, or temporarily, switch to Viera.

A: I don't think you should give up hope. I mean we're hoping Final Fantasy XIV will have a very long lifespan. With that being said. Fran and the Viera race have a very high heel and trying to depict that in Final Fantasy XIV is challenging. They won't be able to wear any shoes that exist in Eorzea right now.

I am honestly thrilled! Hobbits in Lotro have bare feet, do we really need to adapt every shoe? We can have bare feet too xD

This is why we need more high heels! even if they didnt have such an extreme need for a high heel I think people would be happy just to get a viera in general....like me easy remedy tho, is just make the basic outfit for the race have a basic high heel shoe, let the glamour community figure out the rest.

I wonder if they could make this work in the future by doing what they did with belts--making the shoes invisible for Viera below a certain level. Instead of displaying ilvl 20 shoes, for example, even when the Viera has them equipped, it would just display default Viera high heels until you reach the level where Square started designing unique shoes for Viera. If they added Viera for 5.0 for example, they could get away with default shoes for all ARR/HW content and just go back and add shoe models to Stormblood content... If they added a few glamour shoes for Viera to help bridge that time where they wouldn't have unique shoe models, I can't imagine people would complain.

So true! We don't need another "weird ears + tail race." We have cats. We have dragons. We don't need another race like that - totally pointless just make a Miqo'te with a small tail and throw on the bunny ears from gold saucer and BAM - you have your "bunny" race. It is too bad they ruined the only "normal" human race in the game - can not get passed Hyur looking like they have a stick up their rear while standing and running (truly awful running animation.) I'd rather they update/fix the "old" races animations than waste dev time on adding a redundant playable race into the game.

I didn't expect YoshiP of all people to reignite the flame hope to the Viera community lol. Well now, perhaps I have something to look forward to in 5.0 after all.
