Sword Oath Gauge

Does it feel weird to anyone else that there are no offensive uses for the Oath Gauge, even while in Sword Oath? I'm not saying it's good or bad, it just feels odd to me that this new gauge we have has very few uses and both are completely defensive.

it definitely feels tacked on but it'll get plenty of use. Sheltron as a MT, Intervention as a OT.

Should have gotten an ability to recover MP that uses Sword Oath gauge, or maybe a Fell Cleave sword skill.

Assuming that the gauge fills with SWO by auto attack and SHO by block, to me it seems that in SWO the gauge will be filling quicker than SHO.

That is literally what Sheltron does. Uses that 50 gauge to recover your MP.

I suspect that Intervention will get a lot of use while OTing. Intervene to buff the MT for a tank buster, Intervene when someone gets targeted by a prey, Intervene on someone with Weakness/Brink of Death before raid-wide damage. OTs might be more free with Intervention than MTs who will be saving it for Sheltrons.

Also Cover looks like it could be used as support CD for MT so PLD really got some nice group utility, i just hope some CD's get shorter recasts like TW seeing it might not get any additional benefits.

the way meta in this game works. if they added any offensive tool to the oath gauge, it would become the default and anyone not using it would be consider scrub tier. since dps > all it would simply result in no one ever using the defensive abilities leaving the healers to handle it.

Agree, like war now everyone praise inner beast as a godly defensive cd but in real situation almost everyone use stacks for fellcleaves

As OT, you could use Cover+double Sheltron back to back to regain some MP in order to weave in an extra Holy Spirit. Just a thought for an "offensive" use of the gauge :P
