I agree with this to a point. The only thing you have to remember is that AST was a band new job that needed to find its niche in the game, and apparently it did. The main reason for the "uproar" if you will is that they are "reinforcing" the WHM niche into the ground, which isn't a good thing, and they are "abolishing" the SCH niche totally, that's the reason for the uproar. As weird of an example as it might seem, think of it like them removing your position at work and not indicating where you will go once it's totally gone, you'd panic wondering if you'll even have a job(SCH/WHM) once its all over. But if a position is added, you just need to get into a grove with that new job(AST), to understand your place.
I like helping people with their Job ideas, it's fun to help them visuallize and create the job they'd like to play most. Plus I make my own too, I'll post them eventually.
