I would question WHY it wouldn't astound you that a 2-piece glamour cost MORE than how much a monthly subscription is. Like, do you have that much money to throw away on something like this?

Then I look at just about EVERYONE who does have the USD18 to throw away on something like this. If people are willing to buy all of this, then SE will keep these high prices. Future glamours will be just as expensive if not more.

Is that what the playerbase wants?

Why would it? It's not a lot of money, in the grand scheme of things.

And if they keep jacking up prices and people keep buying them...what exactly are they doing wrong again? Sounds like smart business.
