I support Viera as a new race but find it unlikely they will add it anytime during SB. However I find it strange that SE has yet to respond to a thread that's now surpassed 100 pages of responses. It's pretty unprecedented and obviously the demand is there. The cost of making the race would, imo, easily be compensated by the amount of people that permanently, or temporarily, switch to Viera.

So true! We don't need another "weird ears + tail race." We have cats. We have dragons. We don't need another race like that - totally pointless just make a Miqo'te with a small tail and throw on the bunny ears from gold saucer and BAM - you have your "bunny" race. It is too bad they ruined the only "normal" human race in the game - can not get passed Hyur looking like they have a stick up their rear while standing and running (truly awful running animation.) I'd rather they update/fix the "old" races animations than waste dev time on adding a redundant playable race into the game.

Q: Not to bug you, Yoshida. But I'm a big fan of FFXII's Fran. The Viera race was considered for Heavensward but never included and Stormblood marks the second time they've been left out. Should I give up hope?

A: I don't think you should give up hope. I mean we're hoping Final Fantasy XIV will have a very long lifespan. With that being said. Fran and the Viera race have a very high heel and trying to depict that in Final Fantasy XIV is challenging. They won't be able to wear any shoes that exist in Eorzea right now.

Just give them more human-like feet and add high heel glamours in the future. All races will want heels anyways.

Why? I liked thier cute legs "paws". If they can help, they can run faster than human's feet.
But if not "high heels". They can use own "digilegs" without heel shoes.

I mean, i liked the original design, but if its such a huge issue that it causes them to not add viera, well id rather they just did this because it is better than nothing.

If it is really not possible to model the characters with high heel feet I would not be mad about normal human-like feet as long as Viera still have distinct features to differ them from other races and give me the "Yes, those are Viera!"-feeling. We need to probably come to an accommodation to the producer if it is so difficult to implement original FF races like Ronso, Viera and others into FF14.
