I highly doubt they'd add a new race during a patch cycle. They didn't add a new Job during the 3.X series due to not having the time (adjusting current Jobs) and that will most likely be the excuse they'd use if asked about a new race. Heck, it apparently takes them 6 months or so to make new clothing :I

Yeah, I agree it's highly unlikely for a new race to come during a patch cycle. I'm gonna guess 5.0 or 6.0.

5.0 if SE find a way to make sense of why they wouldn't be seen within the Garlean army and 6.0 because we'll most likely be going to completely new lands, where the only known lore of lands of the Far West revolve around the Mamool Ja.

Also, here's hoping 6.0 will try something a little new (potentially being a new starting point/opening. 1-15 zones and the rest being high level zones because you gotta go to Eorzea for X reason. A few changes to the ARR storyline if you start in the new city). 6.0 is very far away and if they do introduce a new race, it'd be a little jarring to make them playable when they'll only appear as NPC's in 6.0 areas.
