Yeah, it's more like if you went to an all-you-can-eat buffet and you ate 9 cheeseburgers but on the 10th they wanted you to pay $10 for it. And you say "but I'm paying for all-you-can-eat", and the other people eating there say to you "relax buddy, you don't HAVE to eat it, it's optional!"

Granted, I certainly wouldn't excuse greed being a factor but don't presume you would get all this stuff if "people would just stop buying it!" Sadly, we wouldn't.
Why not make them a reasonable price so they actually make the sales they want? Why bet on a few that will pay 20-30-40-50-60-70 dollars:

instead of saying 5 so more people buy it? Sure maybe 100 people buy it for 18 but what about 10000 buying it for 5 dollars? 18 dollars for a glam needs to be account wide. It does not cost them a thing to adjust the price to make it appealing to more people, how do you have a "shortage" of supply on digital content?

"If we players keep proving we'll willing to buy $70 monocles, the industry is going to keep selling it to us."

One glance at the Mogstation trend and it clearly shows more than enough people accept the prices, whether grudgingly or otherwise. Someone did an estimation on Sleipnir a while back. It sold over $650,000. Dare I even wonder how much the Eastern Garb attire given the sheer amount of people who have it. More than enough people just don't care, thus the items are valued where they are.

I cannot agree more with you.

I am voting with my money to not make this purchase (although I really want to) and want to deliver a clear message to Square Enix via ths forums.

This is NOT what we want.

Actually, I'm beginning to agree. Usually I'd just tell you they can do what they want and get over it, but I'm beginning to get a bit annoyed that they can add a new emote to the shop every month or so, but not to the game to earn from playing it. Earlier on in my experience with FFXIV, finding and unlocking new emotes was pretty cool and I always wondered where I'd find the next one. Now it seems to be that the answer is always just to look in the shop. I'm totally OK with it if they put every limited time emote in the shop after the event associated with it ends or if they made some particularly intricate emote that really sort of demanded, but it really shouldn't be a thing that an emote a month is heading directly to the shop. I understand that the sub only model for MMOs died a long time ago, but it'd be nice if they at least balanced micro transactions and in-game content out like Blizzard learned to do.

I know that, and I am making a stance not to be part of the problem. Also I really think they would make more money from getting more sales if things are cheaper. How come this never seem to cross their mind?

It's not the only item being sold for EUR 13.50 on Mog Station. Clearly a good amount of people are buying them. And if something is selling well, why should they stop adding more items with the same price? You can't ask people to stop buying them because they can afford it, they don't have an excuse not to.

I know that, but why cater to those that can pay obscene prices? They are only hurting themselves in the long run. If someone is buying something but the high price leaves a bad taste in their mouth, you are going to be losing a customer eventually. These high prices are self destructive in the long term, like the video points out later. Also where is the research? Why not find out what the happy medium is? If something is cheaper more people are going to buy it, so why focus on a few large sales and not a large amount of sales at a lower price?

I'm not supporting their prices... but if you think it's too much, just don't buy it. If you REALLY want it, then splurge the few extra dollars or pounds or whatever.
If you can't afford it, that sucks, and I relate.

It's worth what people will pay for it. If nobody buys it they'll lower the price. If people are buying it at that price it's clear they disagree with the assessment that' it's too expensive. Since prices are staying the same it's obvious there are enough people on the "This is a reasonable price that I want to pay" side of the argument to convince SE to keep their prices as-is.
