Actually had some really good experiences in Party Finder the last couple of days. :3 (Not DF, I know, but they're basically the same with regards to the amount of derp in there most days).

Yesterday, I helped a group farm some A10S. That was really fun. Also taught same group a little bit of A11S (up to Lapis). Today, I helped another group that I ran A10S with last weekend learn some A11S (again, up to Lapis), and later on, got my own A11S clear. On my second run, my BRD pants dropped. ;_; Finally, my beautiful pants!! Going to run it at least 4 more times to get 4 more pages, then I'm going to buy the tank pants.

Also joined an A2S to A4S clear group. I've cleared A4S for the mount, so I offered to help teach them A4S if they could help me with A3S. XD After several wipes, we finally got it down though. It was challenging even at 270, so I can see why it was the static breaker during Gordias' tier. Was a fun experience though. Perhaps after I clear and farm A12S a bit, I'll go back and clear some Midas Savage just for fun. Depends on how much time I have left before servers go down to prep for Stormblood Early Access, in between doing some other stuff, like cleaning out my retainers.... .___.

Now, it's onwards to A12S! I did a little bit of it on AST a couple days ago. Kinda nerve-racking at first, but not too terrible. Definitely not as bad as A11S in the little bit I saw (got to add phase). Ready to jump in and do some more! I know I'm clearing them with 270 gear and Echo, but I still feel happy that I have cleared them.

As a side note, I also randomly participated in the Odin FATE on my server (because he happened to spawn nearly on top of me while I was in the North Shroud gathering--I was like HI FRIEND PLS DON'T KILL ME O.O), and I was the one who defeated him! Probably not that big of a deal for some, but I am definitely going to lurk around the Black Shroud to see if I catch him when he next spawns. I want to see him appear as my character. XD Gotta get a screenshot of that!

I'm glad to have some good experiences with regards to PF and DF because, for a while there, I was having such crappy luck with ANY group from either Finder. Hopefully my streak of good groups will continue for a while. I certainly don't miss the bad ones!


On a slightly sadder note, a friend and I that were two-manning PotD got ambushed on floor 175 and died. ;_; We were doing WAR/AST (because I am a terrible SCH), and we'd had several close calls after 150+, but nothing quite as crappy as what happened to us on 175. D: But I figured we probably would have wiped to Behemoth on 180...just because of his Meteor spamming and our run's apparent lack of Raising Pomanders... We've started a new save with 2 DPS friends (MCH and SMN), and we're hoping to make it to floor 200 with this group!

Yesterday, I got Thousand Snores of Toto-Rak for Mentor Roulette. I was a PLD right, and the healer healed in Cleric Stance (fine for early dungeons if you're DPSing) but he wasn't DPSing, then he started to heal someone who wasn't taking damage instead of me... (It was an archer that was the newbie)

I started jumping around because I was really low on HP and I'm playing on JP servers, mind you, so I can't really type it (in hindsight I should've auto-translated). Then he's like, I'll get closer to you, once I died a couple of times. I don't know the reasoning for that at all, it confused the hell out of me. So we make it through and I also died to a set of mobs near the end and the boss, Graffias. So then I gave my commendation to the DRG that was doing nice dps and tanking when I died.

That was one of my few bad experiences...

Today.. for my friend... was really fun:

(Relic questline)
The dusk vigil first time (forgot weapon)
Undergeared tank and mnk, Tank died twice before my friend fully adjusted to the mp sink, MNK had less hp then the healer, and on a simple pull ran out

of mp purely due to the undergearing. Forgot to change weapon due to frustrations.

The dusk vigil second time:
MCH had less hp then the healer, was advised might think about gearing better, left on their own free will. Other then meeting a 3rd undergear the run went smooth.

Sohm Al (first attempt)
Undergeared tank mega pulls the first pull, dies despite always casting healing spells. asked to be kicked to avoid penalty then everyone else left.

Sohm Ai second attempt:
livable, 2k more hp then the last tank

The aery:
Notices mnk less hp then the healer, and remarks if they knew they where undergeared for the run. After being told it is leveling you do not need gear, she was kicked, did her a favor since everyone was better the next attempt.

The vault: both runs was fine, needed a second run due to forgetting weapon.

The lost city of amdapor:
It was likeable, had lots of friendly chat. Due to the likable party, did not mind the mess up on the boss that makes clones of everyone. Was happy to find a brd that knew how play brd.

sohm AI (hard):
Slow DPS, no real talking, no lb on an aoe pull, melee LB was used on one of the bosses, no caster LB on second wave of pops on final boss, ran out of mp when the 3rd wave appeared when it was finally defeated. This is considered livable to my friend due to no toxic chatter.

The great gubal library (hard)
Noticed slow DPS on the first pull, was trying to figure out the sorce but was not sure. Due to having a ninja, friend was not sure if the ninja was playing well for a ninja or if the SMN was just really bad. Bosses was even slower then they should be compared to AoE, so was suspecting the SMN more for lacking DPS. Finally at the mega pull after the second boss, no aoe LB + ruin one spam. Commented "lb" to use lb as she was trying to keep the tank up spaming heals. No one died but they started to get snarky with her having cleric stance on. She vote kick proposed on the SMN due to comment and being useless in DPS, to her surprise the group was a premade and they all left her before the final boss. The tank that was last to leave insulted her as he MPK her so he could leave.

2 premade abuses, 5 undergeared players, 1 abandoned run, and 3 slow runs due to lacking DPS in 10 DF runs.

So after running all of the normal Alexander raids (yes I said normal) I'm convinced that there are no healers left in this game. I was helping a friend clear them for the first time, him on PLD and me on DRK. Since I'm about 30 ilevels higher than him, I was MT for most these raids. Guess how many times I died in each raid because healers refused to get out of CS? The answer, ladies and gentlemen, is more than once. And that's a f***ing problem to me. One time is fine because it could be an honest mistake. After the second time, I assume you're just garbage at your role, period. And it's not just df. We made a pf group for some of these as well and EVERY healer we got did the same. F***ing. Thing. Always in CS and ignoring my hp. I was hot last night, you have no idea. Especially when one of the "healers" asked if they could go dps and the other healer could solo heal. I blatantly stated that there was no healing going on at all besides my friend, the PLD using Clemency every time he was able. Thank God for Clemency because that's the only heal I ever got, and he managed to save me a few times. But I told them that they might as well be dps anyway because the noob PLD was doing their job way better than they were. I cant wait for CS to be gone. Not that it really matters though because "healers" will still not do their job on any given Sunday. I'm usually a very calm player, but I've never seen this level of incompetence or just sheer zero-f***s-given attitudes. It makes me want to scream and rip the horns right out of my head!!

As someone who tends to heal old 8man content, I can agree with this. I'm often the one who ends up solo healing the raid and still outputting more dps than the other healer. The most recent one was in a light farm group on AST when I was paired with another AST. They had diurnal set, so I switched to nocturnal assuming that they would 'main heal' by simply using aspected helios amd I would only have to aspected benefic the prey targets. Nope. Not a single regen on anyone. I ended up having to heal everyone myself, their hps was something like 200, and they pulled only 600 dps to my 900. After two runs of this I just switched to diurnal so that we would at least have the regen going. They changed nothing. I didnt want to ditch the group so soon, so i stuck around. Bit as soon as a couple of others said they were done for the night, I got the heck out of Dodge. And that's pretty typical. Yes, it's old content, but no, that doesn't mean it requires literally zero healing.

nocturnal will be expected to main heal because of the permanent 10% heal boost nocturnal gives.

Cleric Stance isn't being taken out, just being readjusted into a buff.

The buff won't change healing potency though. Just buff damage 5% I think that's what he's getting at. Healers healing in cleric can be a rough...
