Summoner glamour and their AF ...

To me, Summoner's new AF for Stormblood really falls in that "meh" territory. When I look at it I get the feeling that the designers really didn't know where to go with it. I can't make out a coherent "theme" that many of the other jobs' AFs have. The robeswaist-wraps and sleeves are the same color; and that's about it. The body/waist piece is underwhelming because I swear, it's silhouette looks like a less-stylized Gloam Tabard. None of the pieces looks like it compliments each other, but that can be a good thing. If you only want to glamour certain pieces, they can compliment gear from other sets if you like mix-and-matching.

The Heavensward AF was hit-or-miss. It was elegant, sure. But I know a lot of people (myself included) could not get over the leg armor; it looks like a diaper on its own, and if you're not a fan of togas, the whole look was a wash. I also don't think it flattered certain race+gender combos at all. But to me it was also a set that needed either all or most of the pieces equipped to look decent; most pieces on their own looked incredibly out-of-place on most other gear sets. And that horn. I could not get over how hard they tried to stylize a new horn by tacking-on weird sculptures to the point that you have a Bismark sitting on your forehead.

So yeah, I'm also of the opinion that the ARR set was/still is the aesthetically "best." I think most fans would see it and conclude "Summoner," and it's a stylized robe without getting overly-fancy *cough*cough*everyVoidArkset. Having said that, I do want to see how certain parts of this new set end up being dyed.

My veredict is the AF3 looks like a downgraded version of AF2

yeah my thoughts as well... i like both AFs so far the iconic one (ilvl 90) fits with the The Nexus Veil of Wiyu pretty much <3
AF2 looks like a lightwarrior sent by heaven (compared the angels from Supernatural) - combined with thavnair legs and arms it can look pretty fluffy; I like that as well.

Now for AF3 appears something in between I feel the same like MOthe... dunno what to say bout the 3rd set yet... hmm

I'm looking forward to a smaller horn, the first 2 were entirely too large. Hopefully it dyes well~

Since BLM and WHM have the robes on lock, coats should have been our main thing in the first place imo. Ah well, rocking snow gear for life since SMN gear especially for males is so bad.

I just decided to glamour over to my AF 1 for summoner and keep AF3 for SCH. Shame, our AF3 couldn't be as exciting as AF 1.

What are you thoughts? Which get up you prefer? Also to make things interesting you can post pictures of your Summoner glamour.

I like the helm and skirt from AF1 but the rest are all meh. I think it's a personal thing though. I haven't really liked any of the SMN sets to date. The Plague Doctor was the closest I came.
