Most MMORPGs lack healers and tanks cause they are boring. Thank goodness SE is going the route of letting the potential of healers and tanks being more than just heal/tank bots. This philosophy actually makes healers and tanks more interesting for me to play. Deal with it.

This is Final Fantasy. Characters in a party have always been expected to deal damage unless otherwise needed. Rosa was a bow user. White mages in FF5 could be equipped with attack moves to help deal with the trash. Celes and Terra both had attack spells. You get the idea.

People also often forget about the complexity of jobs in this game, which resulted in a very big gap between the best players and average players. Let's say the new raids' difficulty is enough to force the healers in Elysium, Angered, Delete Monk, and other top groups to heal full time while utilizing all of the tools their jobs have, then nearly everyone in the game won't be able to heal those fights. What takes an average healer dozens of heals only made those healers do a few heals. Can you even imagine the raid difficulty needed to force them to full time heal?

If you really think that "most MMORPGs lack healers and tanks" you must have played very few MMORPGs.

As a Paladin, my first priority after keeping enmity is ensuring the rest of the party is safe from all harm, which is why we were given divine veil, clemency, cover, and a no CD stun to stop red zones casted by mobs. Damage dealing is only on the table AFTER I am sure everyone is fully healed and safe (not in a red zone I can prevent, covered when DD is targeted by certain boss mechanics, healed directly after a boss mechanic I know is coming by raid awareness). tossing out clemency also saves the healer MP and gives them more opportunity to DPS.

That would just make it GW2....a game I can't stand because of how much of a single-player game it is.

When I'm tanking or DPS'ing, I don't really care if the healer is doing damage or not. As long as I'm alive to do my role, that's all that matters to me as far as the performance of the healer goes because things with red names will be dead regardless of whether or not the healer is doing any damage.

In a circumstance where healing isn't that big of an issue, I'd still rather have a healer doing nothing but heal rather than a healer panicking because they think they're not doing enough damage. Sure, it makes things go a tiny bit faster, but so do DPS that aren't getting distracted by what other people are doing, plus (at least to me) no amount salt is tastier than the salt from someone throwing a hissy fit because the healer's not doing any damage.

I was going to make this post. Ignoring White Mages in the early parts of games with the Job system and FFI, every Job has always been "damage dealer with quirk." Even in FFIV-3D, Cecil, who is the sole most durable character in the series (and is intended to tank) is still able to keep up with Kain and Edge for single target damage.

Edit: Rosa in FFIV-3D is less of a damage dealer than she is in 2D, but her bows still dish out decent damage and her Holy spell late game is more than potent enough to keep up with Rydia's constant use of Megaflare, Meteor, and regular Flare.

I am sorry but that just not the vibe I get from the community about how much a healer should be dpsing not going to do any quotes cause in mobile right now and most likely not going to come back to edit post.

Yeah sure... But this is not about "vibes you get" from what people are saying, but to have a discussion you're supposed to actually read what they really say instead of making your own assumptions.

So lets not pretend that chance of getting a special snowflake"OMG you wasted 5 mins of my time" isn't also a high probability.
