Just because you have stats (which basically improve automatically over time) and you have skills (you don't have even control over in regards to choices) and just because a role is named in some way, doesn't mean that a concept of other games with those apply here.

Does my medic in X-Com complain that he mostly does damage and only has about 2-3 actions to heal per mission? (There are stats and gear in that game as well, so this is kinda rpg'ish, too, right?)

It all comes down to: This is an action-oriented multiplayer video game.
People expect other ones (at a certain point) to use all of their abilites to achieve something like 90%+ time of you pressing useful buttons.
There is no "I'm here to do this and not that", it's a video game and some people expect that in video games you just do the best a specific job can do. No "I don't wanna" or "But I thought it will be like".
Just Video games as they were since they went online. Adjust or switch job. And FF14 has been that way for more than 4 years now.

If you're too lazy to push more than 1 button, then what are you even doing in this game? You cant tell me pushing 1 or even 2-3 buttons only is fun?

Some people like to use their brain and understand the difference, but not everyone is that way.

I thought about adding more to my post cause I knew I would get a response like this but I did not but the rest I was going to add is and I have stated that in other threads about this topic about healers dpsing is should a healer stand around and do nothing when no healing needed to be done? No they should add some whether it dots or some stone/holy spells but don't think they need to go full force and try to do max dps. As people on the forums don't want "some effort" they want pedal to the metal 200% effort otherwise person is a bad player. You are also very condescending but I guess that on par for these forums.

I believe that people need to try their best and sometimes there is no reason to not instance dance as tank or DPS as a healer, however, complain because a bunch of randoms doesn't meet your standards is stupid. Why? You are complaining about something that can be easily fixed with a premade, and boy how they lose their shit when you point this out.

I had a healer in Totorak once, they would cast CURE, CURE, CURE, MEDICA (even though only me as tank had taken dmg) CURE CURE CURE MEDICA.

I asked why they were using medica... they said "variety"...

Were they were not DPSing at all, so I suggested it... and they were like "nah"

Edit: oh, I suppose I should add, my point of that is some people are just lazy. I can deal with someone that is still learning, but some people just enjoy wasting peoples time... blech.

I think complaining about 2 to 5 mins more in a run is silly, if people don't have the time to play and want everyone to rush then maybe THEY shouldn't be fu*king playing and learn to manage their own time in real life better.

I think you lack a fundamental keystone to the argument itself. There's more to wanting to be efficient than 2-5 minutes and shit real life time management- lol.

The thing I find issue with are the posts saying people will kick or harass healers/tanks who don't put out enough dps or ridicule as 'bad' those players who choose to play their intended role in a way comfortable for them.

The people who are saying this are in the minority. Most players don't care if you don't DPS at all as a healer or stay in tank stance throughout a whole run.

You purposely cut out the part in my comment where I addressed BOTH sides tho. You only looked at the first statement... the part you think I'm missing is in the second part of my comment.

I was making a quote and left out the second part because you contradicted yourself by saying you should be respectful to everyone and at the same time told them to get better fu*king time management, but that wasn't important to me. What was important was for me to inform you if you weren't aware that there's more to players wanting efficiency than being shit with time management, which I said. condescending? Maybe. But you see, theres 2 camps on this particular topic.

One side that goes "no-dps healers are lazy,they should at least try and help" and the other one thats like "omg this is a game, not a job lolz let the healers heal lul"

And with your comment, you make yourself look like the latter. Also, saying that people want this game to be played like a job when all they want is some effort is quite condescending as well.

Anyway, my last sentence wasnt necessarily only meant for you,but more like a general statement to all the butthurt people who refuse to dps no matter what and see this conversation as something it is not.
They all just see this in black and white. "omgz go full dps over 9000 or kick!!!111" - "lolz get a life, i wont do 2 jobs, im a healer!!!11"

No one is actually seeing the middleground here that merely states "put some effort and do some dps when time allows you to do so".
And I'm fed up with that. And it clearly shows in my posts, not gonna deny that.
