I actually keep it stocked in my freezer regularly.
It's definitely an acquired taste though. I grew up with it so I learned to like it, hated it as a kid.

My wife loves stinky tofu . I just like giving people a hard time (in good fun) for that group of fermented soybeans, because it is such a strong smell. But it's fair game, dairy products gets a lot of gripe with some of the groups I talk to lol. Where I don't really mind the cheese smell it was brought up to me before, cheese stinks and I'm like "oh.. right, yeah it doesn't smell great I guess".

On an international day at my college I had Natto (I try everything once, unless it can kill me right there lol), didn't really love it but my Japanese friend was drooling when I brought it back into class (and I just gave them the rest :3) - they thought it was the bee's knees lol.

It does smell pretty bad, especially when you heat it up to defrost it and I know the texture is tough to deal with for some people.

One of my favorite ways to eat it is with rice and a soft-cooked egg that still has a very runny yolk. I mix it all up and the yolk adds a creamy flavor that tempers the "sharpness"/pungent aspect to it's flavor and the rice helps make the slimy texture less noticeable since it blends in with the sticky rice texture somewhat.
