

So you're making an assumption based on a hotbar shown in a live letter. Or have you somehow been able to check out the actions/traits/job tabs for each tanking job, and read the tooltip on every single ability?


Please stop making assumptions everything about the balance in the game is changing you don't know enough yet to be making these baseless assumptions. You've been given a very small piece of a jigsaw puzzle please stop trying to arrange it before we get the rest of the pieces please.
People think foresight is good mitigation? It's about 5-7% damage reduction on physical attacks only. Replacing it with a skill that has 20% mitigation on everything is not a bad thing...
These changes are going to make it easier for people to understand their role and get better; guess it still has a basic intelligence score requirement :/
Edit: and so far, the changes I've seen for tanks are nothing but good,abd will be really interesting in raid. Faceroll content is still going to be faceroll, and the changes really won't do much there (well, maybe make it even easier)

You clearly didnt read what I said , how is rampart replacing rampart on my palidan thats literally picking the same exact move that I already have , that 5 to 7 percent damage reduction on my palidan is a loss if there is nothing to replace it with. This cross role system is literally hey palidan and whm why dont u buy all your abilities back that you already have, hey dark knight lets take your damage from low bow and reprisal.
Wheres the scholar type ability in the cross role system, or the warrior type ability they literally focused in on one job took all their stuff and called it cross role. What tank changes all of the skills in there are things that already existed a one second silence thats good? a stun that every tank already had yea thats great right.
As I see you main warrior so maybe gettin rampart to you was better than bloodbath and foresight but its a loss on my tanks and I think its a lose on my warrior as well to me. I did fine on warrior without rampart up until now I didnt need nor want it now but now im forced to take it.
What exactly do you not understand when people say 'rework'?
We are basically getting new toolkits, just forget what u used to do in HW, wait for patch notes or release and then look first, how your base job has changed.
The fact that you lose some abilities is only a part of the rework.
E.g. WAR has no wrath stacks now and stance dancing requires ressources, Infuriate altered, Unchained altered, Storms Path is now a tool to fill your ressource (Reprisal is there for optional 10% damage reduction), etc. etc... That's pretty much a new job now and old WAR is gone. Just forget it.
PLD has an 18s CD for the whole group now, he can block magic damage and from more directions, Clemency is now an insta cast, etc..

1. You don't know if PLD got any new defensive cooldowns.
2. The new stat, tenacity, is most likely making up for any loss that the not having a second 20% defense increase is giving us.



Haven't you proudly stated multiple times that you're a mentor that likes to help people?
Instead of coming here to cry about your precious tank jobs being changed, maybe you can spend that time to think of things you can do to help those healers learn what they're supposed to do.
Lastly, you could do what good tanks do, adjust your actions based upon the ability of your team. Only bad tanks cannot adjust to the situations they find themselves in.

Reading too much of the forums makes me very sad and apathetic.
You guys are just simply having to much faith , I just cant even do that to myself they pretty much took abilities they deemed where useless like clicking a defensive cool down was something that took any thought. Just like they took dps buffs because it was just so much for some people to handle I guess.

Im not spending 30 mins in a dungeon when I dont have to , Im sorry if that makes me a bad tank , I just want to get in and get out. And having as many cool downs as possible allows me to pull as many adds as possible that goes for even low level dungeons(like copperbell mines, and satashsa) that you get thrown into in df. Having more cool downs makes even low leveling dungeons go by faster, takin that away can make the dungeon even longer which Im not tryin to do. This change didnt just effect tanks it effected all jobs , and in a bad way Im almost certain if SE would have simply just unlocked the cross class system without having to level jobs people didnt want, that there wouldint be 10 plus complaint threads right now.

Internal Release (+20% Critical Hit Rate) is still on MNK, Enochian (5%+ Magic Damage) is still on BLM, Straight Shot (+20% Critical Hit Rate) is still on BRD.
Just because DRG can't access Internal Release, and MNK can't access Blood for Blood doesn't mean DPS still don't have buffs to press and keep up...
Just like how just because all tanks lost Bloodbath and Foresight doesn't mean they don't have any other cooldowns. Take a goddamn chill pill.
