[Clarification request] Accessories role locked in 4.0, will it affect current gear?

I'm glad my main go to accessories are level 1 glamour ones, if they do make sets like the high allagan accessories role locked hopefully they will make craftable glamour ones at least

At this point any current gear it's obsolete so I don't see why SE would put this new restriction to any "old" ACC. Also, for new ACC all they need to do is let DOH craft a version without stats usable for anyone (new glamour book with said recipes). At least that is what I would do to not mess with player glamours.

maybe ilvl 270 str accerssories are BiS for tanks in 4.0 when they don't put any restrictions on it? it would take a while until the ilvl increases that much that the secondary stats alone can outweight the mainstats on the i270 stuff.

Perhaps, or perhaps a tank without enough Vit/Tenacity will be obliterated because the damage done by bosses is increased like a lot (not likely). Also, they can do something similar to Blizzard and at lvl 70 that gear no longer gives any benefits (for WoW was legendary procs not working after a certain level).

Anyway SE has multiple ways to do this without impacting in negative ways players that enjoy glamour.

I made a thread in the Items section calling attention to the glamour problem. Hopefully the dev team notices or thinks of these things before launch so we don't have go 6 months without glamours waiting on a fix.

No, but for example "of slaying" will be only for MNK/SAM/DRG.

Dyeable accesories may be a solution.

I use the lore casting accesories with my SCH as glamour, but if they are going to block the accesories to each role, make them dyeable seems like a good solution, I wonder why this isn't an option yet.

No, but in case you're unaware you can still unequip a "Ranged" accessory on a healer or anything else because they aren't actually restricted - that won't be the case anymore. Ranged accessories will be MCH/BRD/NIN only instead of All Classes.
