I mean that's fine. You doing damage is definitely an option. The same way that its optional for me to do the basic 1-2-3 combos the game lays out for me, and the same way for optional for tank to literally just use their enmity skills throughout the enitre dungeon. We can all just do whats absolutely necessary to get through the dungeon if we so choose. Is it optimal? not really. Will the dungeons take muuuuch longer? Of course. But as you said, no one should be forced or called out on if they choose to not do everything they can to clear the dungeon the best way possible.

I'm going to run an experiment. For 5 ex roulettes, I'm only going to heal since that's the job I queue for. Then for the next 5, I'm going to strickly dps using no gcd heals because that's what the "community" wants. I'll record which ones I get kicked from.

lol melodramatic. No one said a healer shouldn't heal. Don't say thats what the community wants. That's just what you want.

As long as you don't let people die I don't care how you heal. If you start not healing you'll get the boot all the same.

I have to stop dpsing to start healing, so that's not going to work very well for my experiment. Which means I'll be using the lb1 for heals instead of dps using it. I'll pop out of clerics for tetra and asylum, but since assize is strickly a dps skill, no aoe heals other than lb.

You are 100 % correct sir ^^ these 2 things are entirely comparable to a healer doing all his healing but not wanting to dps. On that note, I feel all Summoners should also heal while doing DPS as they need to use everything in their arsenal to do dmg and keep the group alive.

It's not being melodramatic. Everyone wants healers to be pulling 1k dps in every instance, or your just a garbage, time wasting healer.

I understand that, but the community tolerates, casual tanks and casual dps, but heaven forbid you have casual healers that only want to do their role.

You can do 1k dps with a lot of healing and over 1.5k with slightly less healing. You are melodramatic because you said you wont heal. Some people can't read and it's a issue. Nobody said go ham on dps and no healing, we are saying dps when there is nothing to heal instead of going afk. When is that? 80% of the dungeon, so please, don't be so melodramatic

That's the whole issue. Many players picked up the healing role in order to heal. You just said It's only 20% of the dungeon. You don't see that as a problem?

I have never once been in a group where anyone actually complained the Healer wasn't DPSing. I've noticed it constantly, but I don't care enough to ever bring it up myself.

Certain people in this thread are projecting their own insecurities about DF super hard. You should TRY to do both, but your more important job is to keep people up, that's as simple as it can get.
