Do not want to sound like a Troll but unless you are Japanese this is a complete waste of time. I was hoping they would compile a list of the good questions that were posted in the thread in these forums but apparently they are going to rely strictly on Twitter again so we are at the whims of our Japanese friends hoping to have relevent questions asked. I am afraid that we will never get answers to these questions. I think I will wait for the Cliff Notes version to be posted on the forums.
Square-Enix is holding a live event where they'll be publicly answering pretty much any question that the players ask via Twitter, for a good 90 minutes, twice. In addition, localization teams will be staffed to relay questions to Yoshida and provide live translated summaries (delayed by a couple of minutes at most) on Twitter as the video happens. In addition, the entirety of the video is fully translated and put up for viewing with subtitles a few days after the fact.
And yet, the players complain that Square doesn't provide live on-the-fly translation/transcription/closed captioning in all languages during the actual event.
Nothing's ever good enough, I swear.
They are..what do you think the whole purpose of:
http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...AL-FANTASY-XIV
Is for? It specifically states:
Twitter is for the translation of the answers. If there happens to be questions and/or feedback, they will be answered during the second broadcast of the Letter from the Producer LIVE so please post them on this thread.
As other people have said really doing live translations should be very feasible and would give an extreme boost to the community. Sure we could all wait and just get the translation a few days(1-2weeks?) from the live broadcast but wouldn't it show a much greater effort the FFXIV team is putting into speaking with it's community if they try to talk to there community as a whole on the spot instead of only one section of it?
Something similar is starting to happen in other areas of gaming as well such as at the last Evo tournament they had a live interview with one of the top players about what was going through his head during the match. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C1Aso...feature=relmfu
Capcom didn't run that panel but I can assure you everyone who saw that JP/English who was a street fighter fan was enthusiastic about hearing what was going through Daigo's head at the time and they all got to hear it together. I'm sure the same sort of reaction would go through the J/G/F/E player base if we all were to experience the live producer letter together. Why does it have to matter if it's a one time only thing? If they can make it be something that will be spectacular and remembered for the ages they should!
awww poor you. Everyone sympathize for Pikachu Link because she feels that she has to play this game for the rest of eternity.
If you don't like the game enough to where you think a bunch of people talking in a language you don't understand is more entertaining, logic entails that you would be playing a different game.
The ironic thing is, his avatar showed he's a recruit for all 3 Grand Companies, meaning he does indeed like the game enough to go through the fairly lengthy process of joining a GC.awww poor you. How is it even possible to get inaccurate translations when the reps are translating in realtime and posting the things on twitter so you have an official translation the moment the question got answered live....................
Do some people think before they talk?
The rest untranslated such as images are obvious...If he shows a picture of areas its going to be about areas, not a new boat. If he shows a picture of AF which we've all seen, we know what it is, and like the Moogle Sword, its not a in-game cheese burger.
Yeah but i was mocking the people that play the game and feel they HAVE to play it forever and ever.
