Predictions for tomorrow's Live Letter

Hey guys, tomorrow's Live Letter will be a really important one (if not the most important one) regarding Stormblood, so I wanted to share my predictions with you.


What we can expect to see:

Massive amounts of free forum salt. If you have stocked up on salt over the past months and still want to get rid of it for a decent price, now's your chance! Prices will plummet tomorrow, that's for sure. Don't press your luck!

The next death of Final Fantasy XIV. A lot of people will try to convince you that it's imminent.
"wat is dis BS, wow such casual game nowww" "the game's dead, now it's official!"
and similar posts will flood the forums. In preparation for this, I will leave this link here.

Related to my previous prediction:

The next big battle of the Quitters against the Popcorn Eaters. Expect a showdown of gigantic dimensions. Will the war finally end? Find out tomorrow!

The birth of one or more new forum memes. The meme gods have recently blessed us with "100ms ping, literally unplayable", a really nice meme that touched the hearts of many posters, so I cannot predict the magnitude of tomorrow's meme.

If the healer changes are anything nearly as bad as I am anticipating they are going to be, I am going to be supplying a LOT of the salt you predicted. I am already dreading the announcements tomorrow, though secretly hoping it will be awesome and make me actually excited for Stormblood. I just can't seem to get excited for it right now.

I'm looking forward to it to a degree. I am also predict there is going to be a lot of salt and anger because the changes don't cater to peoples own specific whims.

I wouldn't expect anything drastic. It would be nice for Paladins to finally get their tank stance at 30 or even make it so you get the stances at 15 before your first dungeons (not likely.)

Cleric Stance is not a role skill. Only white mages will be able to use it.

This would still be keeping healer DPS in the game. As highly unlikely as this is, I'd find it hilarious just because of how much salt it'd generate.

Cleric stance is being changed somehow, the dev blogs said it. My guess is that it'll be nerfed somehow or that it won't be togglable in combat =p Though I find a lot of enjoyment just imagining what the forums would be like if that were the change lol.

That's crossed my mind as well. As well as other things like disabling it in dungeons (think PvP) and leaving it in open world. Either way, I'd be just as amused.

I actually expect them to give it a passive accuracy boost, similar to tank enmity stances. Assuming accuracy is kept (I do have a hard time seeing them removing it completely).

I'm expecting to see defacto shared and duplicate abilities put into a common pool for each role to remove the need for levelling 'subjobs' for critical abilities such as taunt. Abilities such as Cleric stance, Esuna, Raise etc will just get streamlined in with this in a bid to simplify things a little. I'll be surprised if anything else changes about Cleric TBH, perhaps a reduction on the cooldown at best.

I've still firmly got my hopes on accuracy being completely removed (Again, it goes nicely with the stated goal of simplifying and streamlining things). Maybe a bit of an effort to address how wishy-washy secondary stats can be in places as well <3

I think it will be fairly balanced, the popcorn eaters will use the salt for themselves after all.

You do remember how well they "balanced" jobs (healers and tanks specifically) going from 2.0 to 3.0 right? Warriors were so well balanced compared to the other tanks, White Mages had everything that was unique to them handed to the other two jobs while getting nerfed traits, nerfed Holy and nothing good in return and AST and MCH were a mess to say the least and, if I recall correctly, bard was even in a bad spot.

Speaking of tanks... let's look at this thread: http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...-from-the-P%21 and do some speculation. If those skills are any indication of what they do, which job do you think got the most love? It looks like WAR to me again... =p

I was talking about the supply and demand of salt.

I think any people demanding salt will die of a heart attack several times over before the supply is depleated =p
