How do I start progressing my crafts past 50 without much gil/leves?

You are right that some of the Ixali quests require you to gather some materials in the field before crafting something, but they dont really have a level requirement. All you ever have to be is level 1 in the appropriate class. Of course, harvesting some wood from the ixali logging grounds area(to use one example) is certainly safer at a higher level, but if youre really careful it can be done at the minimum.

Yep they are lvl one and skills to increase yield, etc. do not work on them @.@ so you don't need fancy gear or anything, just llvl 1 tool is fine.

Good points! However, I was also thinking along the lines that those BT quests place you in Coerthas, and there might be FATEs or mobs in the vicinity that are aggressive, and no stealth in the early levels. Even if so, they are still very doable. I just wanted to put the warning out there.
