I agree that the change to the points loss/gained for ranks is a little bit ridiculous. Back in Season 1, Gold was actually a decent rank that showed you were a pretty decent player, Platinum was that you were a great player, and Diamond meant you were amazing. Now, Gold is a meme rating you can achieve with a 35% wr, Platinum means you might be good or you just played a lot of games with a 40% winrate, so Diamond means you're pretty good.

This means that even if you are the highest possible rank, Diamond, since you still get matched against and with Gold players who are sub par, 35% win rate people, high level games are not as enjoyable since no matter how high you go you still can't avoid the baddies.


It seems to me that the only reason they made this drastic a change was to make new players feel validated by getting shiny ranks despite not doing that well, which is not how they should work rankings.
