I remember a similar group at Ifrit, I popped in there going... Ifrit? Really?

I was BLM at time, and had Physick from my Arcanist, the WHM died 3 times in a row, on the third time I just took over healing and left him there. going.... dude if you can't get this right, and you're a critical job like that, I'll just do it myself.

So the 3 of us cleared it without problems.

Had a Copperbell HM with the worst SCH ever played.

Myself on PLD, wife on MNK, random BRD and SCH. SCH summons Selene, and then does nothing but cast Physick. Literally nothing else. Things are dying really fast anyway, so I try to grin and bear it for a bit.

Then we get to the second boss. They turn on Cleric Stance!...and continue spamming Physick. The fairy is 8 miles away, so I'm constantly at no health. DPS handles the bombs no problem. The BRD is trying very hard to help the SCH out, Auto translating Cleric Stance and other spells. No dice.

After the fight, someone isn't rolling on loot. I assumed it was the Bard. I said "Roll so I can kick the SCH". The BRD said "They are stuck in Cleric's, but at least they're DPS'ing, right?" I reply "No, they're actually not."

Loot roll finishes, we kick them. BRD comes back in on AST, finish no problem.

Also ran Amdapor Keep this weekend, had to kick someone. Random BLM's "rotation" is the following:

Fire 3, Flare, Transpose, Blizzard 3 > Repeat

Single targets and AoE both. I called him out after the first boss. He said he was doing that "for fun" and told us to chill. ...No. Kicked him, replacement topped the charts, and cleared NP.

Bad tanks and healers can hold a group hostage, because they are hard to replace. DPS? You can be replaced faster than it takes to /sit.

I remember mentioning this before, but Leveling Roulette dropped me into Qarn normal, as a WAR, where I encountered a SCH who had Cleric Stance on and did nothing but spam Physick. When questioned, they stated that they had all their stat points allocated to INT for SMN, and genuinely believed that as SCH, Physick would heal more under CStance.

I pointed out that CStance reduces healing by 25% (can't recall the exact skill description right now). Apparently, they did not know this, nor did they ever bother to test out how much Physick heals with or without CStance. The test heals I asked them to perform took all of 10 seconds at the most.

At the end of the dungeon, I took a look at their search info. They had WHM at 60, and yet had no clue how a level 4 skill worked.

To this day, this encounter still has the power to make me stare into the distance and question humanity.

Not DF, PF again. Lol Its not really something bad that happened to me, but I noticed someone has been putting up "Titan WTs" but they're setting it to lootmaster to get the pony.

Blocked them. Its on aether.

I have the pony so it doesn't effect me but I don't think its fair. :/

It's especially sad considering they could just hop in Titan with a friend and duo for ponies faster than waiting for WT parties to fill.

But who am I kidding? The probably have no friends.

wanted to farm some lore and queued up for gubal hard.
I usually go as a healer(whm) because I hate lazy no-dps healers and I really do good dmg as a whm.
I saw right from the start how both dps hardly contributed anything dps-wise.
I was doing BY FAR FAR FAAAAAAAAAAAR the most dps there. Heck,even the tank who was a returner, did better.

So I waited until after the first boss. Asked the dps to put more effort since stuff is dying so slowly and overall dps is really poor.
Their comeback at me? Epic. "Poor healing". Um? No one died or even was close to while I still contributed the most, dps-wise.

Their gear? One was around 240 (SMN), other one was 260+ (NIN).
The 2 dps seemed to be a couple, ya know, having those super cute "<insert character name>, my love <333333" messages in their search comment (baaaaaaaaaaaaaarf!)

They then kindly told me theyre not "in the mood" to "put up with" my "sh*t". So I stopped dpsing halfway through the next pack and stuff died extremely, EXTREMELY slowly.
Health bars of mobs almost wouldnt move. I pointed out how extremely slow its going as I watched them kill stuff.

I put my faith into the tank having common sense and initiated a vote kick.....yes, I believed the tank would agree its best to replace them after letting him see how slow things went.
Well, too bad. It got rejected. He also shouldve seen it coming that obviously,after a failed attempt of kicking out one of the 2 lovebirds will result in me being kicked
since the votekick will go through with just 1 person agreeing with it. Well, if youd rather get rid of a dpsing healer than 2 lazy slobs...be my guest.
Also: No,the tank was NOT with those 2 dps ppl.

Sooo what happened next,you ask? I got kicked. Yeah, I know. Real shocker

Do I care about the kick? Nah, I'll gladly take a penalty-free kick over carrying those slobs.
But I'm amazed at how many people will just go with ANYTHING rather than kicking...and thats something I will never understand.

I went to a dummy afterwards and and did a 1-2-3 combo as a NIN for a while,and I did significantly more dps already. And I even forgot to put on my poison for that LOL.
Heck, I went as far as only spamming ONE BUTTON (Spinning Edge) (with poison this time) and still did more than this guy did.
I also never play NIN. Im far from good.

Now, if anyone has any objections and wants to justify this as a "playstyle"...please kindly let me know.
I really do wonder why youd even bother playing a game if pushing more than 1 button is already too much to ask from you.
It's not really fun. And having 20+ skills and only using 1 and ignoring the rest cannot be blamed on the game "not teaching enough".

I'm a kick-happy SOB, but my wife absolutely HATES kicking people. It makes her feel just awful, no matter how bad they are. If I didn't run content with her, she would probably never kick anyone and just get crapped on all day.

Some people just have a thing about it. I don't understand it, but I can verify that it's a thing.

I ran into a level 60 DRK who didn't use Darkside at all. He was decked out in scripture gear and had the ilvl 260 anima (With parry rating added to it for...some reason), so he likely had been playing the class for a while.

As someone who regularly uses the class for tanking and tries to go Grit-less as often as possible to maximize DPS, I really felt like saying something, but ultimately didn't, which I mildly regret.

I have this problem as well. I go into content with the mindset of doing my best to make the best experience for the group (generally meaning the fastest, smoothest, most by-the-book run). So I have a difficult time kicking somebody from 4-player content. I know I've made that person's experience worse and that I'll be making the other people wait for a rep to continue (or worse, have everyone abandon the run and waste their time). But, frankly, I think as a whole we need to start kicking more people for the greater good. The game is throwing a lot of players into content they're completely unprepared for and we can't fix that part but continuing to coddle them and carry them only exacerbates the problem.
