Viera as the next new race~ Show your support

As Nestama said, every time something in XIV even hints at referencing the Ivalice alliance (a normal thing to do considering how XIV is built) then all we get is "Viera confirmed", and frankly it gets tiring to hear (as evidenced by many people who reply to this thread). We can let the dev team use Ivalice the way they want without making it all about Viera because there is so much more to the franchise than that.

To be fair even if we got a full FF12 themed raid, would it even feature any of the races that heavily? I would assume it to either focus on the Occuria, the Archadians or the Espers, none of which would really feature the Viera as they barely even feature in 12 apart from one player character.

This thread is been going on for such a LONG .... LONG time that it's clear that the mods/admins are still keeping an eye on it to see the demand for Viera race. And it seems to me by not giving us an answer about it we might still have a chance to see it incorporated in game in the future.

I do wonder what class the Japanese side are wanting to have in game

That is my exact point. EVEN if it was a FF12 raid we shouldn't expect the races to feature heavily, the fact that it is a FFT raid just adds extra weight. I've already stated it, but my speculation is an ascian focused raid that explores the scions of light and darkness (which has no basis, and I treat it as such, but has more weight than Viera considering the parallels the ascians of eorzea have with Ivalice).

Just adding my daily dosage of Viera love. Also while everyone is focusing on the Viera from FFXII being in XIV, we may just be getting a version of Viera-like races made just for XIV since its a different universe. I'm open to both possibilities though. Anyways, WOOT VIERA!!!

I'd really rather have a proper race. We already have miqo'te and this would be just more of the same. I want a proper beast-like race or something properly rough looking, like how the Au'ra were originally depicted. Now that would be awesome.

Having just some bunny race seems like such a dull and uninteresting option to take. Imagine having a Lamian for example, now that would be wild and interesting and unexpected. It would be entirely different and not just some human-like race with bunny ears

As in your Elf-like Au Ra character? Just request another race in another thread, maybe bermucians?...... bermecians? .....can't remember the name of em. Also wouldn't Lamia's be legless? I think they'd have to create a whole new armor set just for them, not that I'm against that anyway :/

They'd just have to change the way legs/feet slots apply to their models, which is not so difficult a concept. WoW does it with feet slots for certain races for example (trolls and Draenei and Tauren) because they have hooves or different feet and legs.

And yes i'd not play an Au'ra if they implemented a race like this.

I doubt they'd do a race that was more beast than human as it would mean more work when designing armor. They already have au ra horns just stick out of helms and hoods rather them making the model built around them or design them to look like they were made with the horns in mind. So thinking that they'd be willing to make unique bottom armor is wishful thinking. They already say making models for the races we already have is a lot of work so any new races we may get will be similair to the races we have so humanoid.

It usually goes on for a long time because someone who wants Viera (be it someone who is actually new posting in the thread, or it's the same usual people bumping it for one reason or another) posts in it, or it's me or someone else responding to someone who thinks the Ivalice raid is going to be all about Viera (because that's apparently all Ivalice was about. Never mind the political plots, esper lore, etc). I make sure to not post in this thread if it hits the third page or lower, even if it's to respond to wild claims.

I've exhausted this argument enough times, but I haven't repeated it lately so... Au Ra overall are a good enough example for us to use to see how unlikely Viera will keep their concept art look (humans with rabbit ears clipping through hats will be the end result. They might even be shorter since their feet will be flat). Also as a reminder, Viera are considered to be concept art for the Au Ra (says so in the art book).

I'm not in this thread to argue with anyone about who wants what. To be honest I couldn't careless. I'm just here to show my support cause at the end of the day that's the point of this thread.

I believe this is not the only Viera thread in this subforum there are others lengthy enough too I think. The demand is reasonably big for this specific race
