What is a Final Fantasy game to you?

From another topic, I was wondering... what do you think of, when you think of Final Fantasy? What do you expect to find when you pick up a game? What do you enjoy?

Edit: I'll answer my own questions to start.

1. Epicness. Both in story and in gameplay. FF in general has always managed to take even simple things and make them larger than life.

2. Awesome story. FF stories are always just a little different and told so well. Fantasy stories are common, but the flare FF manages to tell them with is not.

3. Cutting edge CGI. They always seem to be "first" in graphics.

4. Interesting game mechanics. Somehow, they always manage to pull something off thats just a little different.

5. Plenty to do. They seem to be a master of mini games, side stories, and optional bosses and quests.

6. Really cool weapons and armor/clothing designs. Simple yet very distinct.

7. Certain running themes. Chocobos, Cid, airships, summons, limit breaks, or the equivalents of such.

the op's list rings very true to me. i think to me it was the fact in most final fantasy games i had the want to get to the next part because i couldn't wait to see what happens next. the storyline is my biggest draw to the rpg games. i love the playing with other people and parties, but at the end of the day i get bored if i have nothing to work for or to look forward to.

Story, Lore, World, Fantasy and Adventure.

Its true graphics are wonderful in FF games now but even before new gen graphics FF games were Epic; One of my Favorites being FF4. Wonderful game and i recommend it to anyone who is looking for something to play while servers are down and have not already played it.

Well written storyline with a consistent flow, beautiful graphics, good character animations, and summoners.

4. Chocobos, airships, summons, crystals, and Cid.

I think that covers everything that I expect in a Final Fantasty game.

Right now, we only have a little bit of 1 and 3, 2 is completely absent, and a dash of 4 (aetheryte crystals).

Pffft Everyone knows that Cloud didn't love Aerith and Aerith didn't love Cloud it was Zacks memories and Person in Clouds body that was causing mixed signals to fire.
