Having all jobs at 60 I normally dont run leveling roulette anymore, but yesterday I choose to - I want that FemRoe-recruit that comes from dungeons and Khloe wanted any leveling dungeon to let me give her book back.
So I queue up for leveling roulette as my paladin and get Haukke NM with three sprouts and my guess is that two of them were new - not to bad, I think. No one replies to my greeting, but okay. Conjurer casts protect, runs around a little confused, trying to get upstairs, but hey, first time!
I go and lead the way, just to have the conjurer slip in the room next to the floor (you know, the very first room with a key) and starts pulling my casting Stone II on the mobs - expecting people to actually follow me, I had pulled the maiden and the mobs in the floor (I always do it that way around) aaaaaand we wipe. To the very first trash mobs. Okay, happens - I ask the healer to stand behind me and not to pull anything. No one says a word and I'm praying now that they even understood what I'm saying (they're all french, but I dont speak that language). We go back to the keyroom, I tell the healer that if they want to help dps they might aswell use cleric stance. No reaction.
We progress to the room with the first locked door - and when I say "we" I only mean me and the dps because the healer wanders off on their own again to explore a different room. When he finally reaches us I've got 1/3 of my HP left but instead of starting to throw me a few Cures they cast Stone II again (and again outside of Cleric Stance ofc). Infact this healer casts nothing but Stone II (and the protect at the start). I die. To the third trash mob pull in Haukke NM.
At this point I ask the two dps to try and approach the healer in french - still no reaction from that guy though. This is 15 minutes in the dungeon and there has be no sign whatsoever that the healer is willing or able to communicate with us or even just listen to our advise - I do what I always do in those situations: I tell them that I want a response now or I will assume they're a bot and kick and report them. We wait two minutes and the only thing that happens is that the healer runs off to cast Stone II on some more mobs.
So I fill that report, we kick the healer and I ask a friend to heal the rest of the dungeon for us.
We were able to give the bard some tips (please use your dots! They're important!) and all in all it turned out a really nice run.

If that conjurer wasnt a bot (or a troll), I hope they'll never get passed Haukke...

I ran Alexander creator for a Fc Mate who hadn't been in it before so 6 of us group up and go in with an open tank and dps spot. We got a pug PLD in a12n. Dude pulled while we were explaining to our fc member the mechanics and didn't say anything. I asked him if he knew what to do for the fight and he didn't say a word. Didn't even try to LB for Alexander's ultimate (luckily our tank was on the ball). He got hit by every sacrament so our tank took Alexander because it was clear he didn't know what he was doing. PLD kept trying to take Alex back, causing him to swivel towards us every 40 seconds (it's a miracle we didn't get cleaved). He also tried to go into timegates when no one was dead. We finish the fight and he gets the same achievement that our newbie did-so this really is his first time in the fight. Then he says some really incoherent sentence about how if he was new then he would've said that he was new, that he knew what he was doing and that we should stop complaining.

I just don't get it, the last.... 4 summoners in expert, no shadow flare at all even on bosses, no miasma 2, no blizz 2, essentially ignoring 1/2 of their aoe potential.

Honestly, in Sohm Al HM i ditched blizz2 since all the trash groups have so many dangerous ground telegraphs and all they so is spam them. I do run in for a quick miasma2, but then I back the hell out lol. Not worth staying in there where I can't even see my character with all those big arse monsters who spam their moves plus the floor vulnerability debuff.

A few days ago, I was stuck tanking a group in Aurum Vale that was just completely horrendous.

Our healer was a Conjurer. Not a White Mage, but a plain Conjurer in horrifically outdated gear. He used nothing but regular Cures on me, and ran out of MP so fast that we had to pause after almost every pull. He also did not bother doing any DPS, though his MP would not have allowed him to anyway.

One of our DPS was a Bard. A Bard who, despite being synced down, did less damage than me. I have no idea how he managed to accomplish this. I don't think he used Mana Ballad even a single time either.

And our second DPS was a Black Mage, who actually did his job quite well... Until he disconnected after the first boss and didn't come back again.

It took us an hour to reach the final boss, only to not be able to kill him because of our low DPS. We simply got overwhelmed by the adds, and the Burr stacks killed us. I gave up and quit on our fourth try.

Yeah I've started to see this too...

Get paired up with another SMN... and watching him do all SINGLE TARGET stuff... I'm like... Dude... why are you not using the thing that makes the SMN strongest you know the AoEs?

No PAINFLARES... just BANE... no Enkindle with Garuda... no Shadowflare or Miasma II AoE to add to your Bio, Miasma, Bio II combo.... and get this... NOT EVEN USING DEATHFLARE... on large packs of mobs... let alone something as basic as Bliz 2 spam as filler between your Painflare recast timer to add a good 75 Potency to your already ticking DoTs.

They're just sitting there using Fester and Ruin 2 or Ruin 3.... on a 6-10 mob spread...

And you're just sitting there going... dude... seriously man? Yeah your 300 potency Fester apparently is SOOO much more imporant on that ONE mob... rather than doing 200 potency Painflare on all 10. Yeah dude... not going to cut the mustard there....

So, speaking of which, this morning I was on my alt and decided to heal level 60 roulette and leveling roulette. I don't know if it's a DRK thing or not, but they seem to either be allergic to darkside or they really don't know how to play the class at all, just using it for the edginess. I mainly play SCH for roulettes because I'm tired of healers that won't DPS at all, so this way I can force the runs to go faster but this morning...

I know what you mean when it comes to the no-Darkside Dark Knights. It was especially bad back in the day when Foreverreap was relevant. Every second DRK I met, in EX or otherwise, either could not keep up DS due to MP management, or didn't even try. Try to offer help or ask why they don't use it: instant hostility. It's gotten a lot better since, but there's still the odd edgelord here and there...
I mean come on, I'm a sucky DRK, it's easily one of my worst jobs, but even I can keep up DS during pulls, maybe needing a short break between two if I messed up real bad. If one chooses to main a job they should at least try to learn the basics.

Just wanted take a moment to tell you guys how much as a tank in dungeons I love you guys (good summoners). So fast we clear, I can pull the whole damn level mini-boss to mini-boss and just watch a pair of SMNs just melt them down. Its a thing of beauty.


Back on topic, Did an roulette with a FC mate, we got Aetherochemical Research Facility and a Bard with the most basic lv60 weapon, all left side gear at lv58 except the 54 belt, and all 54 asseccories except a48 ring. We made it but damn it was painful to watch and our DPS for that run was garbage. He used no dots, no cool downs, just auto-attack and random skills.

Sounds like me tbh. I'm sure it makes me a dreadful SMN, but Miasma 2 isn't even on my hotbar and I can't be bothered running in and looking like a prat spamming Blizz 2 while waiting for a 9 second cast. Shadowflare I do use but I'll leave out if the trash is melting away before I can even get Dreadwyrm out or the boss keeps getting re-positioned.

Still somehow manage to get speedy runs and comms despite my utter terribleness, though.

Not really a specific story, but the tank really irritates me when they take 30s to a minute to get ready, and then start a ridiculously long countdown while I'm trying to time my mudra's cooldowns to be available during the initial pull for trick attack, so I developed a new habit of throwing shadewalker on the MT and then pulling myself if they take forever instead of waiting on the tank.

I used to wait, but some people are just so slow it's annoying.
