If you found AF's useless then you certainly didn't know how to macro equipment swaps. The were only a few useless pieces, and even less after Limbus.

To me, taking the hood up/down is an unneccessary feature IMO. We have Display Head on/off. That's very much enough for me

I don't think it will happen, but if WHM gets a cloak without a separate headpiece, then that would be like the only job which didn't get one, so I don't think that's likely to happen.

They could easily make a hooded cloak that has stats good enough that you won't miss not being able to equip headgear, and seeing as how it's only for White Mage they can balance it out since it's most likely going to be the gear you'll fulltime when playing as that job. They've already been looking into having hoods down and apparently the framework to be able to display helmet visors up or down has been in the game for a long time. Not to mention even the design art for White Mage has a hooded robe with the hood down. The display head on/off feature is wonderful but hoods still conceal your character head.
