Are you saying there are male bunnies? This is madness!

    Just asking.
It's mostly to prove a point; Rather than skirts, I actually typically use the limited selection of short-shorts available to guys, which still comes across as pretty feminine usually. I decided to (mostly) go with the available skirts in this thread so that the outfits are slightly more explicitly coded as 'feminine'. I'm trying to show that no matter how girly some of the locked items are (Which some of them aren't. I really don't think the Expeditioner's Tabard is all that girly, and it certainly wouldn't be impossible to fit it for male use), guys probably have something girlier already.

But I must admit, I was also extremely bummed when I found out the Bunny sets were female-only, because I was looking forward to some group of odd Balmungers putting on an in-game production of Rocky Horror Picture Show now that there was a bustier and fishnets in the game.

Not according to SE there aren't. Weren't Viera a female-only race, in Tactics and XII?

Another dancing outfit, this time with the male Thavnarian top and the Flame Elite Loincloth. I dream of someday having a similar leg piece that can be dyed, but that color sure makes it hard to buy that SE doesn't like putting gear with a feminine aesthetic on male characters, as the male NPC wearing the set in the Flames HQ will attest.

    I'm totally supporting this cause!
More available glamour is always a good thing. And if male characters could wear those cute maid dresses, I'd perhaps play a Maleqo'te again

But oh well, as long as this is not possible, my cute female Miqo'te will suffice~

But men and women running around in swimsuits while fighting the Void Queen is totally acceptable, yes.

No - Viera have males and females. You just never see the males because they stay in a seperate tribe away from the females.

I don't like lalafell. I don't tell people they can't play them. You not liking the appearance of something has no bearing on whether or not someone should be able to wear it.

My male Lalafell. I roleplay, and icly they're a girl, but because of multiple reasons, I chose the guy model. Namely:
    • The guys have better poses in my opinion.
    • The guys have better glamors.(Again, in my opinion)
    • Lalafell are androgynous, so it's easy for me to switch without any real difference character design wise. Which is why I love playing Lalafells. I want to wear girly gender locked clothing? If it's worth the fantasia price, then I can change without my character's gender actually -appearing- different.

Sadly, glamors, AND poses, are not made equal.

As proof, here are the guy and girl models side by side. A close eye will notice the eyelashes and eyebrows, but that's it.

Addendum: Figure I'll put this here. I'm a girl who's asexual. /shrug I don't really see genders as 'hot' or 'sexy' or really enjoy fanservice. Best I can say is they're aesthetically pleasing? But when I see an Elezen Au Ra or Roe of any gender in 'fanservice'y gear, It is just clothes on their body. I don't really see the difference. What difference -is- there beyond a few physical changes? Still, I know I'm a minority here, but I just play what I like.

I've always said I couldn't tell the difference between male and female Lalas (unless they've got one of the REALLY girly hair styles on), but seeing them side-by-side like that really drives it home.

Here's the Sky Pirate's coat of healing, which is wonderfully frilly. I didn't even have to add a skirt to this one, since it's built-in to the coat.

I LOVE androgynous look, and that is what I find aesthetically pleasing. If they unlocked the gender-locked gear or if they at least decided to design male counterparts for future items, I'd be happy. I do enjoy what male characters already have, I can make it work, but at the same time there are items like the bunny ears or Y'shtola's cute bob that I can't use unless I fantasia into a female.

But here's the catch: If I fantasia into a female, I get access to all the items males have, plus the female items (thavnairian dress, more hairstyles, bunny ears)... But I'm not happy with the shape of my character anymore. Why would we have to choose to begin with?
