Firstly, Miqo'te do not have butts.
Secondly, if I am going to spend countless hours on a game, I want my character to be pleasant to look at while fulfilling the other criteria I've posted. I do not think the male characters in this game are pleasant to look at. I can admit that some male specimen of certain races can look fancy, but not fancy enough to play as one. I am attracted to the opposite sex.
Thirdly, I could say something similar about players who play as their own gender: "You just want want to play as yourself because you have no confidence in yourself and want to pretend being a hero/heroine that saves everyone. Get a life."
Actually, there are more things I could say about such players, but I don't want to further derail the thread on page one (or probably page two). However, if you want to discuss this in detail, feel free to add me on whichever messenger you like.
But if you just wanted to leave your post here to be "the cool guy with a life", then... gg wp.

Female Au Ra

Female because Im a woman irl and I like playing my own gender, also back when I used to play male characters in MMOs I was more popular with the ladies than real men :I

Au Ra because I used to play midlander since Dijana was based off Dijana from FFXI (and I chose hume in that just for the balanced stats), but I really hated the female midlander animations, particularly the boring idle and the ridiculous girly run. I love beast type races, and shorter races, but I just cant bring myself to play as a catgirl...tried it briefly and it felt so wrong (No hate against miqo'te, I just personally don't want to play one). I like the Au Ra overall design, their lore, the sexual dimorphism, and they just seem a higher quality than the original races.

Dunesfolk- I didn't like the pupils
Lalafel- I thought they were the cutest and fit my personality
female- "Sprinkles Cupcake" didn't seem like a very "manly" name... idk...

I also have another set of lalas (a boy and a girl), a catgirl, and an Au Ra girl. I really like all the races, but everything about lalas makes me happy.

Female Highlander

Highlander because I liked their overall appearance better than others at the time and they had a muscle slider; I knew I wanted to play a tank and I thought a tank should look well muscled.

for me, I'd say its a process of elimination and picking the least worst option, because IMO every race has something I absolutely cant stand, so it boils
down to what I can tolerate the most. Since I am female and always play female, Im only going to refer to females:

Hyur: the typical, boring "human" race. They arent bad, but theyre the most boring out of the bunch.

Au Ra: their eyes look dead, sad and soulless like they just wanna grab the next razorblade and go /wrist. I cant deal with it, I turn emo just looking at them.

Lalas: Lol. Well, no seriously: theyre cute, but too cute for me.

Roes: too masculine, too bulky

Miqote: too many of them, and too many look alike. In fact, I was miqote for the longest time until a couple of people I know decided to fantasia into Miqote and made their miqote look almost
identical to mine. Ofc they are free to do that,but it made me feel too generic and I didnt like that. So I turned Elezen. I tried to go back to Miqote twice already, but now I cant help
but feel like an underaged teenage girl about them. it just feels wrong. rip fantasia money. </3


So why do I stay as Elezen?

- many glams shine unexpectedly well on this tall race. Also: long legs for daaaays
- they are super elegant, feminine and just real ladies. No teenage/cutesy vibes from them
- best choice of race-exclusive glams (starter gear + hempen)
- I learned how to cover up their weak spots as much as possible (long neck/broad shoulders), so theres basically nothing I cant live with.
- always been a sucker for elves and their ears.
