This jump is ridiculously infuriating, but it is possible. Even with a Lala.



I pulled it off by reducing my FPS to 30, on my choco, from the left side of the top horizontal log.

See the pic for the starting point and direction to aim.

It took about 30 tries from that spot (after probably 150 tries from the upright log that didn't even get me close).

My computer runs this game a bit over 100fps without frame limit. Tried this jump for over an hour with no results. Then i read about this refresh rate abuse and successfully completed the jump with my second atempt and 15fps.

Thank you, thank you, thank you! I've been trying this for about an hour from the area http://vistas.explorexiv.com/ suggested, which was the far north pole. This way only took me 3 attempts on the Coeurl mount to get up there.

Thank you!!! Have tried it from the pole dozens of times, trying different mounts, changing fps, never made it. Followed your image with 15fps and made it on the 3rd jump!

Now I just need to wait an hour for the weather

I was having a ton of trouble with this one as well, after reading this thread I set my frame rate to 30 and used an arhiman mount, jumped to the first pole and made it to the vista on 3rd try, I really think the mount helped a lot

All this time later and it's still impossible to reach without cheating in some way. I set the game to 30fps and 1/4 refresh rate and still get pushed backwards from the tall log. After two hours, I had to stop because I was tasting blood and still couldn't get up on that spike.

franky if you know the time/weather going to match up you should go out there early and be trying to get on it then waiting till the small window and then trying what I did so wasn't ripping out my hair cause the window was ticking by while trying to get up.

But yeah it is a royal pain and suppose more are being added in stormblood hope they can be flown to like HW were or get ready for some more pains in the butt spots

I don't have the log unlocked and I've made the jump three times >> My old laptop was AWFUL which might have helped, though. I certainly didn't do anything special to the settings.

Pre-painting patch, I used to sit up there on the draught chocobo and offer free trips up for people getting frustrated with the jump. Maybe one day I'll unlock that part of the log myself?

I did it on PS4 so you don't necessarily need to cheat for it to be possible. This one wasn't even the worst one for me; one in N Thanalan and one in C Shroud made me sad for hours.
